“An absolute delight to stay here”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

Chalet: The chalet was smaller than we thought but that is of no consequence as it was clean, tidy and warm with a view to die for from the bathroom and rear veranda. The living room doubles as bedroom and kitchenette complete with microwave oven and all the basic kitchen utensils you need plus complimentary washing up liquid.

The bathroom had a good shower and the bath is a deep double ended bath and plenty of Piping hot water when you need it.

Comments: It was an absolute delight to stay here and it is only a couple of hours from Banff. Another bonus is the wild life, we saw a Grizzly Bear not less than 1 kilometer down the road!

Tip: To use the communal barbecue you need to inform reception and the site attendant will supply all the BBQ equipment for you to use. We arrived in June and the Lake was still frozen. It can become quite cold at night.

Great location! We stayed in a Preferred Fairview Suite on the second floor - away from the road, and quieter. The Good Housekeeping Awards were well-deserved. It was the cleanest suite we have ever stayed in. The office staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The lady who cleaned our room was very cheerful. The owners of the resort supervise, inspect after cleaning, and work at the resort, so they maintain the excellent standard of the property. The buildings at the resort are all stained/painted recently and it is very well maintained. The balcony looking out over the trees and with a mountain view was a great place for enjoying a cup of coffee or just relaxing. We liked the gas fireplace as there was no smoke or work involved in starting a fire. The suite was tastefully decorated and color coordinated throughout. The appliances were newer than I usually find in a suite. It was a cozy suite, and a great place to relax.

We adored this place from when we arrived! We are in a Cooper Cabin (#25), with kitchenette and ensuite. This is so well designed that there is plenty of space for two people (can sleep 4), there are beautiful touches everywhere and we want for nothing. The linen is changed daily and the complimentary tea, coffee, snacks and toiletries are replenished. The bed is very comfortable and the furnishings are of a high standard. It's really got some 'Wow!' factor. There is a nice deck at the back to enjoy a beautiful mountain view. Located just a short distance from Lake Louise and the famous Fairmont Chateau which is lovely to go to for lunch while taking in the stunning view (it's not that expensive for lunch!). After some extensive travelling we found this the perfect place to stop and unwind. The staff are wonderful, helpful and unobtrusive.

Room Tip: Look at the floor plans on the website. Our cabin is in the back row so we get the mountain view.

Its a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the nature around. We stayed in one of the cozy cabins with fireplace and a amazing view of the mountains from the deck and the windows...so I would wake up and see the mountains as first sight! Stunning!

Great location, very friendly staff, extremely comfy queen bed and we got a very private cabin too(number 21), so no worries about neighbors.

Can`t wait to come back!

Room Tip: Deck with mountains view is the way to go!

Stayed with my husband for 2 nights in may 2014 and was greeted by a very friendly delightful young girl who gave us room 52, which was beautifully presented and renovated. It had a kitchenette, lounge and separate bedroom. The gas fire was on to take the chill off the room as we entered. We had complimentary coffee/tea in reception, with a beautiful bush outlook with balcony. The lodge was 5 klm from town, but that made it even more special. It is only 5 minutes up the road from the fairmont at lake louise and more than half the price!. It has a beautiful swing out the back to enjoy looking over the ridge and snow covered bush.
We left a tip for the housekeeper and she did not even take it, left it on the dresser!!! In all my travels this was a FIRST!!

Room Tip: Go for an upstairs suite facing the bush out the back of the property.

Unlike the regular hotel, this place consisted of two storey lodges and bungalows spread out in a compound on the road side towards Lake Louise. We were booked into the Standard one bed room Fairview Suite which was on the second floor. We had to negotiate a flight of stairs to the second level with our luggages which was quite taxing. The Suite's arrangement was also quite peculiar as you would enter into a barely furnished windowless bed room with a queen size bed and a small TV on the opposing wall and then pass through a kitchnette with cooking facilities into a huge living room with balcony that had mountain view in a distance but facing the street (not very close though). The living room was spacious, had a set of sofa (one piece was said to be a sofa bed), a dining table set, a flat screen TV and even a gas fireplace. Felt very much like a rustic cabin. The bedroom's configuration however made sleeping in it not inviting at all although the bed was OK. Honestly I should have opt to sleep in the huge living room's sofa bed which at least had a balcony looking out to the mountains, and a working fireplace. The good thing was the kitchenette which allowed us to buy some supplies from the nearby supermarket and cook our own dinner (no restaurant service on premises). Its other edge was it was only a short driving distance to Lake Louise. If we ever come back this way, I would probably try the bungalows which looked neat like one of those in story books and much more accessible.

Room Tip: If one has mobility concerns, try to book ground level units or the bungalows. If you can choose, t...

My visit was part of a business trip, so I travelled alone.

I rented one of their "Temple" suites with full kitchen, veranda and even a jacuzzi! I wanted a break from hotel life by cooking my own food in the room. Stove, fridge and microvawe are fine and basic utensils are provided. No dishwasher. There was no salt, oil etc, so remenber to bring all you need for the cooking. There is no restaurant on site.

The location is very convenient between Lake Louise village and Lake Louise itself. The mountain view from the veranda is stunning. Not all the rooms or bungalows have this kind of view, so it is well worth asking specifically for it when booking. The only drawback with the rooms with the good view is that it is next to the road leading to Lake Louise, which creates a bit of noise.
Although the room was luxurious by my standards, the atmosphere of the place is cozy and authentic. At check in I was met by a very friendly and enthusiastic young lady who really made me feel welcome. Cleaning service is impeccable.

I was very happy with my stay and I can highly recommend the place if you like to get away from the hotel atmosphere and cater for yourself.

Room Tip: Rooms with "mountain view" have a great view but also more road noise. You have to make up...
