As the title says this was our favourite hotel on the trip despite staying at a couple of Fairmonts at other locations. The staff are really friendly, the rooms are very nice and the setting by the river is gorgeous. The bar and the pool area are also very good.
The hotel also has very nice little touches such as afternooon tea on the lawn and chocolates on the pillows at night.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Lake Louise.

This was our splurge hotel on our trip to Banff, & Jasper. We got some discount by booking on internet. The room was generous with an over-stuffed chair and loveseat and a wood-burning fireplace that was cleaned and rebuilt each day. Free wi-fi, apples, daily water and chocolate are perks. The spa was my high point, my husband loved the indoor pool, steam room and jacuzzi (which he practically had to himself). The pub is the causal restaurant with good food prepared by same kitchen as the high-end restaurant. Piano lounge had a pianist playing standards in a jazz swing mood. It's just a short stroll to the shopping mall for fresh baked goods, small cafe, grocery market. Only drawback to hotel is that coffee and tea are complimentary only in the morning.

Great place to visit. We went for the bargain rooms with 2 single beds and paid about $195 CAD per night. I think the double beds were another hundred. The parking was free. The budget rooms are right near the spa so that was good. Water and lindt chocoaltes at turn down. A 2 minute walk to village across the bridge. We ate a the resteraunt, service and food high quality small portions style but very good, however very prciey. Try the resteraunt about 15 minutes away on the A1 at Baker Creek. Food even better and cheaper.

I would stay again. A spa was really needed after 8 hours bushwalking.

The only reason you stop at this town is for Lake Louise. Albeit the actual main attraction not as serene as one imagines (there are a LOT of tourists), this hotel has a nice location next to a river and a very short walk to the village shops (across the bridge).

Quaint room with a balcony, but your room mates can be heard walking around, flushing toilets or having a bath.

The main restaurant is very expensive and you need to book in advance. On a budget, go the hotels pub - "Outlook", excellent service and food.

the post hotel in lake louise has a deserved reputation as beautifully located. unfortunately, the hotel has not taken advantage of the location. i understand that the hotel was built decades ago and esthetics may have been different then ,but it still seems awkwardly done. room choices are limited. overlooking the parking lot or "overlooking the river." but you will find that the river views are actually overlooking the roofs of cabins that have been built between the hotel and the river. glimpses of the beautiful river are afforded. the river flows with a tranquil sound which is also accompanied by the sounds of trucks, motorcycles, and cars from the nearby highway. the room we had was updated with a terrific bed and linens and with a all world shower. it was however clumsily furnished and cramped by the arrangement of the over sized furnishings and two vertical wooden beams that blocked the view and made it necessary to squeeze out the door to the too small balcony overlooking the red roofs of the cabins. nice. the restaurant consistently served fabulous fresh food. some of best cuisine we have ever had. the portions are generous and the prices are steep. my recommendation would be to explore alternative accommodations in the area, save some money on the hotel and eat in one of the best restaurants in north america every night.

hotel reception fine. room a bit "dim" and very simple apart from the "jacuzzi". Railway next to the hotel and noisy. Not possible to book chosen "dinner" time. It had to be 6h30 or 9h30 restaurant" a ripp off" and small portions. My lamb was very salty;probably a mistake in the kitchen and I had to send it back. 30 minutes later I got an even smaller portion without any taste. Punishment? When the boss passed by he was not at all interested and walked on. I didn't complain but just told him because he saw that I had no plate in front of me and my husband did. The wine list much too expensive. A wine we drank the night before for 44 dollars was 120 dollars in hotel Post.
