“Clean and comfortable”
Reviewed 17 October 2012

We had one of the motel style rooms on the ground floor facing the car park.
Pros; Clean modern room, spacious. Big comfy beds.NIce bathroom. Helpful staff. Close to shopping mall (with excellent bakery) and restaurants.

Cons: No fridge. No view. No way to make proper cup of tea (we're british!).No restaurant on site and nearest eateries only average.

Pretty expensive but no more so than other places in Lake Louise

Most hotels in Lake Louise are even more expensive than Banff so it was good to find one that was more reasonably priced. This is really a motel but fine for one or two nights stay. The rooms are functional and clean. Was surprised that there wasn't a kettle in the room but the very friendly reception staff lent us one.

You have to pay for this hotel in advance which we fouind unusual in the Rockies but apart from that it was fine. Within walking distance of village centre.

There isn't a restaurant in the hotel but an excellent one is in the student hostel further down village road. So much better and cheaper than the ones in the centre.

Stayed there only one night in September 2012 , because we made a round trip in BC. Good location, nice staff and a room that was ok for that price, compared to others we styed in.
Would stay there again. Nothing spectakular but ok.

Stayed here over the bank holiday in August, mainly due to the price.
However i was surprised by the fact that I was a solo traveller and got this massive room all to myself with a lovely view of the forest.
I don't have a car, but the hike up to the lake was fantastic!
The room as mentioned was spacious and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and very knowledgable about the area, ongoing events and made great recommendations ! (First time in Alberta)!
It is a bit old style, but that's what made it even better, gave a great mountain feel.

Stayed in a large family unit for 2 nights in August while we visited the surrounding Lake Louise, Moraine Lake etc. The unit was very large and we had lots of space but was missing a few things like a phone! We needed to ask reception about towels etc for the spa and wifi and couldn't call so needed to walk on over. Our room was right beside the train line at the far end of the hotel and we were constantly dodging the man who was hosing the carpark. We found that quite strange that a hotel that asks you to reuse your towels to save water wastes so much hosing the concrete outside the rooms and the carpark - especially coming from water conscious Australia. There was NO electrical socket in the bathroom so I couldn't use my hairdryer. We ate both nights at the Lake Louise Inn - had great burgers at the pub style restaurant one night and Italian at the Pizza place the next - there's not a lot of choice in Lake Louise for food. Overall reception was very helpful and allowed us to check in earlier than the stated time due to us arriving early, the room was large even though it was missing a few things and it was handy having free wifi. My husband and kids used the spa and said that after a long hike that day it was just what they needed. Lake Louise is an amazing place - my favourite in Canada. If you're going to do the Agnes Teahouse walk continue on to the Big Beehive Lookout it is definitely worth it and was recommended to us by a couple of local ladies we met along the walk - so glad we did. If we stayed in Lake Louise again in peak season would probably stay at the Lake Louise Inn next time only because we could eat there as well.

We stayed here in August and I have stalled in posting a review while I thought about what to say. I agree with all the other postings. It's well located, and in fact it is about the least expensive motel in the area. The people were very nice. We paid about $250 for a room that would have been overpriced at $50, if not for the location. The owners need to invest in the place and do some redecorating and repair work. Beds were okay, and we weren't bothered by the nearby trains.
