Stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise last week - had to pinch myself if it was a dream!
Service & staff fantastic, location one in a million and the food exceptional.
We stayed with a full itinery of skiing, sleigh rides, dog sled (took us on our trip to Narnia), hiking with Mike to Johnston Falls which was out of this world.
Mix of weather and best snow for over 60 years, some days with full blue sunshine, others a winter wonderland of snow, nevertheless the landscape views from the hotel were something else and changing with every hour.
Dined at all restaurants and our favouries were the Wallister Stube with the fondue, Lake View Lounge for lunch (butternut ravioli & Warm Bison Reuben Sandwich ), Poppy Braiserie for breakfasts (fav was Chateau Spa Breakfast).
Some early breakfasts, lunches and evenings spent at the Chateau Deli - fantastic gormet selection and staff all terrific at various times of the day - particularly great for the early mornings before tracking and ski days.
Left my passport in Banff and staff quickly and without fuss had it brought up by the Brewster bus - so much gratitude!
If you visit the Fairmont in Lake Louise, try everything there is to offer - as the activities really make each day individual and special.
Loved it!

Room Tip: Of course if you can, a room to overlook the spectacular vista of the mountains and lake, but if not...

I loved every minute of my stay at the Chateau Lake Louise. The rooms were huge with all mod cons. The hotel staff made this one of my best hotel stays ever. Nothing was too much trouble, even when my husband had an accident. All the staff went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
We stayed on the Gold Floor, which was fabulous and included breakfast, all day nibbles and drinks (honesty bar for alcoholic drinks) and evening hors d'oeuvres. Managed to get a good discount via Expedia. Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: A lake view room is a "must", and the Gold Floor rooms include breakfast, snacks and drink...

Took my hunny hear for his birthday and we stay for thanksgiving...they served us turkey dinner! It was so calm and relaxed here. Can be cold, so bring a sweater or a jacket! We loved the walk around the lake!

A property that needs to be on everyone's bucket list!! It was pricey, but most things in Canada are. If the opportunity arose again, I would do all I could to arrange another visit to Lake Louise!!! It was a memory I'll never forget:-))

Visited for a 10-day ski holiday in late February but we were very surprised to find many of the dining options closed during the Sunday-Thursday nights as there were not enough "a la carte" guests to keep them open - strange for such a 4-5 star establishment? Many guests appear to be just for 1 night "tours" or short-break over the weekend. They did say, if we gave them a few hours notice, they could provide any menu item in one of the open restaurants (usually only the Glacier Saloon during the week), and all menu items were available for in-room dining.

That said, the hotel is superb with great accommodation and like other reviewers so far, you really should have a room overlooking the Lake itself!! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Good transport arrangements to the Lake Louise ski area with regular shuttles - they call up extras should it get busy, and we had no problem, even at the busier weekends! Good, well-laid out ski area nearby.

Room Tip: Lake view cannot be faulted!! We were on floor 2 and still good, so presume higher floors better per...

The Chateau Lake Louise, one of the most famous hotels in North America, is definitely worth a visit. But be prepared for crowds in summer. If you decide to stay, and I think it's worth it, pay the extra for a lake view room.
Because the hotel is so famous and popular, rooms tend to be compact, and if you choose a room without a lake view, you risk being disappointed. With a lake view room, you won't be.

Make the most of your time at Lake Louise by spending at least part of it outside. Walk along the lake shore, take a canoe out for a paddle or choose one of the hikes that begin from the lake shore trail. And explore the hotel's public area. They are like a small museum with a lot of interesting art work and historical photographs.

The concierge can make other suggestions about things to do. And if you can, get up early to watch the sun rise over on Victoria glacier and Lake Louise.

Room Tip: Choose the best room you can afford. It's worth it. If you're driving a hybrid, valet parkin...

Waking up in the morning to a view of Lake Louise and the Victoria Glacier is certainly something everyone should experience, and I'm so pleased you had a chance to. The area has so much to offer for everyone, but being out in the mountains among the trees is definitely a highlight. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future!

I had dreamed of visiting Lake Louise for as long as I can remember. The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise was abolutely wonderful. Each night as the crowds dwindled, we were in awe of the majesty of it all. We usually ask for an upper floor away from the elevator. We ended up with a corner room with the most perfect views of the lake. We slept each night with the windows and the curtains open and woke up to the most spectacular views. The hike to the Tea House is a must! And I highly recommend driving the Icefield's Parkway.

Room Tip: For added perks, sign up for Fairmont's President's Club.
