“Truly breathtaking location, but too opulent for me.”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

I stayed at Chateau Lake Louise for one night on Oct 2012. The location is mind blowing... walking outside to witness the breathtaking Lake and (sadly disappearing) glacier is one of life's truly amazing moments.

For me, the style of this hotel is too opulent and ostentatious - ornate chandeliers and gilded framed mirrors everywhere, highly decorative carpets, etc - but if that's your thing then you'll love it.

The sheer volume of tourists constantly piling in from tour buses also made the place feel tacky (but not much can be done about that).

The room was small but nicely presented.

Absolutely worth a visit for the location, but I wouldn't stay there again.

We spent 1 night in Lake Louise and it was not enough time to see everything. The rooms were immaculate and the bed was super comfortable, and although we did not get a lake view room, we saw a lot of the lake exploring and hiking outside.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had the buffet breakfast overlooking the lake. The buffet selection was excellent!

Highly recommended, even if only for 1 night :)

Stayed here for 1 night in May. When we got to our room we realised a mistake had been made in that we had booked a room with twin double beds and we had got a room with one bed.A quick call to reception and it was sorted in no time. We had requested a lake view room and the view was beautiful eventhough it was frozen! We hadn't expected the lake to still be so frozen so if you want to see the beautiful blue water don't go in May. The room was really lovely. Beds were so comfortable and there was a lovely quality about everything. We ate in the lounge downstairs and the food was excellent. It's a gorgeous hotel and as you would expect the staff were top class. My only quibble is the cost of valet parking which was $35. Worth having a room with a lake view even it is frozen! Would stay here in a heartbeat again.

Room Tip: Lake view worth the extra cost.

The views from this hotel are simply stunning, We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite on the 8th Floor which offered views straight down the valley and to both sides. The hotel is very busy, the lobby is a bit like Grand Central station, though this may be due to the number of day tourists just passing through. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable of both the hotel and local amenities. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the hotel deli has a wide and varied choice of foods should you decide to eat in your room and just admire the views. This is definitely one hotel you should at least visit once in a lifetime.

Room Tip: Make sure you book a lake facing room and on one of the higher floors to ensure you get the best vie...

A truly beautiful place to visit. Looking out onto the snow covered lake and mountains from our room every morning was amazing. Found the prices of alcohol, especially bottled wine very expensive. Prices started from $48.00. If staying purchase your wine down at Lake Louise Village. We stayed in gold class, from the moment we entered our floor we were not disappointed. The breakfast and afternoon canapés were outstanding. We stayed four nights with our teenage children, three would have been enough as there was limited activities for the time of year that we stayed. (Easter weekend). Overall this is an experience we wont forget.
