Beautiful place. Had nice large room with 2 dbl beds, had view of front drive. Just before i arrived and while i was there, they had a major snow storm. Most of all views i had was just snow, lots of snow everywhere. Couldn't walk around or see much do to snow, but could see lots of area to hike, walk around lake, canoe, etc. The Pice is high, but it is a grand hotel. You have to marvel at the beauty of this property. The location is breath taking.
Being an older hotel, the rooms can be small but they are very modern in style. And they do not have a/c. Linens and bedding are always the nicest at a Fairmont. They do have lots under cover parking.
We found the food prices here a little high but there's not much to choose from in the village or even a supermarket so they have the market covered. They did have a small fridge and coffee maker.
Make sure you introduce yourself to Markus the dog in the lobby...if he's on duty...

The meeting space and meals during the meeting were great. The room provided was clean, updated and spacious. The temperature was too warm at night with no air conditioning. I could open the windows partially but the staff did immediately bring in a portable air conditioner upon voicing my complaint. Great service and genuinely nice and friendly staff...

CAVEAT - we did not stay in the hotel, but were there for tea. It was a simply phenomenal experience. They had traditional English tea which leans toward sweets that my wife and children (then 16 and 11) adored. The neat part (from my perspective) was the Japanese tea which tended more toward savory foods. And the view looking out from the tea room was just breath-taking.
This is definitely one of my favorite place in the world... Gorgeous emerald blue lake surrounded by the Rockies with the stunning Victoria Glacier at the back...
The hotel is perfect and so is Banff National park and the Lake Louise. This amazing grand Canadian hotel is perfectly located at the edge of the Lake Louise. There is no other hotel around the lake as the area has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. If you want to stay around the lake, you got to book the Fairmont and you will not be disappointed. There is no many thing to say as this property is perfect. Nice and clean rooms. I've been there 2 times, once I had a large unit with 2 bed and a renovated bathroom and the second time I had a king size room that was smaller and not renovated, but both rooms were fantastic.
This hotel is perfectly located to discover many beautiful areas of Banff National Park. I strongly suggest the 4 hours hiking trail to the plain of Six Glaciers starting right in front of the hotel, breathtaking views all over the hike.
I strongly recommend this property if you want to get the best possible views , the best possible service and the best possible room.

There is really only one reason for paying the C$500 plus cost of a room at this hotel and that is the view from a lakeview room. Superb. To witness the lake in the evening as the sun goes down and then again in the morning as the sun arises, different visions each time, is wonderful.
As for the room, very ordinary given the cost. The best one could say is that the room was 'cosy', and the bathroom was even cosier. During our drive around the Rockies we stayed in hotels/motels that had rooms twice the size and a fifth the price. As far as I am concerned the only reason you would stay here at the room prices charged is if you are prepared to splurge that extra bit to get a lakeview room. Otherwise, stay elsewhere at a fraction of the cost and commute here to enjoy the lake. The hotel has a lot of facilities (shops, restaurants, bars, etc) and you can enjoy those as a day visitor just as much as a hotel guest.
