During our visit to Canada in June my wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Chateau Lake Louise. We were very fortunate in being allocated a lake view room on the 3rd floor near the centre of the hotel. On entering the room the view was breathtaking! Snow capped mountains and the wonderful turquoise coloured lake. The room was comfortable and well equipped. WiFi is free for guests who sign up to the President's club. The foyer was large and impressive and a large lounge overlooked the lake. We dined at the formal ground floor restaurant and informal lower ground bar / restaurant - both were excellent. The swimming pool was closed during our visit but with such scenery and plentiful trails this was not missed! For those staying at the Chateau a visit to Agnes' teahouse is a must. Would I return - definitely! Beautiful, well run hotel with comfortable rooms, excellent cuisine and world class scenery.

Room Tip: Go for a lake view room.

Very classy and sophisticated hotel. Does not have a convenention feel like Banff. It is so well integrated with the Lake and surrounding natural beauty. We had a top floor end unit so lots of windows and great view of the lake. Beautifully furnished and classy touches in our room like walk-in closet, stunning bathroom, and various high end features that I won't make "spoilers" of. We did have one of the more expensive rooms and definitely worth the price. The concierge floor has a very deluxe continental breakfast in a cozy salon. One caution if it matters: we were there end of May/first of June and the lake was still frozen so only a bit of the famous emerald color showing. On the other hand, the glistening ice was beautiful with its glacial backdrop. The hotel has top notch restaurants as well. We tried two and loved them both. There are great casual eating options as well. Spent a milestone birthday there and couldn't have made a better choice.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms are worth the additional cost.

Hotel and staff where excellent. All in counters with hotel staff was excellent. Breath taking views. Several hiking trails easily accessible. Several restaurants within the hotel. I highly recommend the hotel. No AC, however our room was comfortable.

My wife and I spent the weekend here before a business conference in calgary the following week. She is a former Travel Agent from when there was such a thing as professional Travel Agents. Thanks to the internet they are virtually extinct. Any rate her dream was to visit this hotel as the view of the hotel/ake was always on the cover of travel brochures of the Canadien Rockies. It is a grand place originally built in the 1800's and is spectacular from some aspects. THowever there are a couple of drawbacks that others have mentioned - including most rooms have no A/C and the place is very pricey. You dont have to stay here to visit the property as was apparent y the number of tour buses stopping by and having their occupants "swarm" around the Lake. Regardless it has to be one of the most beautiful spots in North America. My suggestion would be, and what we will do next time is to stay at the Fairmont in Banff and then drive over to visit Lake Louisie and Lake Moraine. There is more "stuff" to do in Banff and many more restaurant options. When staying at Chateau LL you have few dining options and even fewer that are good. The breakfast at CLL was excellent - but the sports bar is mediocre at best. If money is not an issue and you can get a lake view suite then go for it. If you want the view without the price - a day trip while staying in Banff or Canmore is the ticket and visiting this Lake and the nearby Lake Moraine is a must do at least once. Now off my wife's bucket list to stay here - but unless there is an incredible deal to stay here - I'm going back to Banff Springs!

Room Tip: Lake View a must!

The only thing this hotel has is the stunning view of the lake! So save your money, spend your day by the lake; you can freely explore the hotel if you wish, and go to sleep to the hotel next door.
We had to wait over 20 minutes for our luggage to be delivered, as a matter of fact, we couldnt wait any longer, so we left the room.
Rooms are extremely small for what you pay and, most importantly, they do NOT have A/C!!!!
Our "suite" not only smelled bad, looked so old, was in extreme need of renovations, had opened pairs of slippers, but it also had this portable A/C unit that made so much noise and barely worked. We were offered to move rooms to a regular renovated room which had A/C, but it was soooooooo small that we had no option but decline the offer.
Service in this property is none to zero. Nobody cares, they think that you are one of the tourists that overtake the hotel during the day time.
Food tastes like it was refrozen.
Breakfast buffet is rather disgusting. I ordered a smoothie which lacked half of the ingredients from its original description on the menu.
Would not stay there again even if you paid me to.

Room Tip: You must demand to have a room with A/C when making your reservation.

Waking up at this hotel provides one of the most spectacular and breathtaking views. Whether you want to hike or spend some time on the lake in a canoe or kayak, this is the place to be. Early morning hikes to the tea houses are best as it is less crowded on the trails and the only sounds are your footsteps and the various creatures that live in the mountains. They are dog friendly and provided a dog bed and dishes which makes it super easy to travel with a pet. Many of the rooms have been updated with gleaming, modern bathrooms. WiFi is free for Presidents Club members.

Room Tip: If you can get a lake view room, you won't be sorry.

Waking up in the morning to a view of the mountains right outside our window was breath-taking. We stayed on the gold floor for a night. The bathroom was definitely the highlight of the room for me. :) The beds were so comfortable that after a long day of sight-seeing, I knocked out the minute I laid my head on the pillow. The complimentary breakfast in the lounge the next morning had a great selection. Definitely a great experience. The service was also friendly and kind with valet meeting us at the curb as soon as we pulled up.

Room Tip: The gold floor has complimentary breakfast.
