We did this walk on June 11 on a lovely sunny day. The path is very well graded, easy to moderate uphill to get to the tea house. It took us two hours to get there, very slowly paced and stopping lots to talk and take photos. There was still ice and snow on the upper part of the path which was slippery and tricky to walk on. There were 54 steps at the end. As with others, it was a very icy wind that greeted us as we turned the last corner to the tea house, but we got warm indoor seating. The choice of teas was extensive and the food wholesome. Our descent took us an hour and a half but we stopped lots to talk and I'm sure you could get down in an hour or less. It was a great morning's walk. So many people do this walk it would be best to go early.
