Baker Creek Mountain Resort
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed here for a weekend after the New Year for three days of cross country skiing. Conditions were excellent! The resort is a wonderful place in which to cocoon and enjoy the great outdoors. The staff is delightful and your comfort is of paramount importance! The cabins are cozy and very comfortable; the fireplace inviting you to spend the day reading! The kitchens are well equipped should you decide you want to prepare your own meals. However, it is easy to walk a few steps down to the Baker Creek Bistro and enjoy a lovely meal. The resort also offers a well equipped gym with sauna and steam room for guests to use as is the skating rink. It's a place that we have gone to for the past five years and look forward to going to in the years to come.

We had our wedding here in December as it was a place we've been coming to for years, first with our families and then as a couple. Everything about the weekend was perfect from the cozy ambiance of the cabins, to the steam room for guests to relax in after a day of skiing, to the skating rink upon which people played hockey and where we later had our first dance. From start to finish the staff went above and beyond to make us feel completely comfortable and taken care of. It's a memory that will last a lifetime!

Room Tip: The trappers cabins are really great for couples looking for a romantic spot.

We've spent almost a week at different higher end lodging in the Lake Louise area-this place is hands down the best. Comfortable, clean, units w/ full kitchens, thoughtfully designed and appointed rooms. Lovely setting that allows you to feel like you're in a national park. Excellent, positive, accomodating staff. They also offer discount lift tickets.

If you're skiing at Lake Louise or hiking in the area, this is a cosy departure from chain hotels and motels. In the winter, there is a wolf pack that patrols the 1A, so you may be lucky enough to see it. My room was lovely with a gas fireplace, little Christmas tree, comfy queen size bed, jacuzzi tub, a handy,well-stocked kitchenette and in summer there's a nice little deck off the back.
If you demand a television in your room or cell phone service, do not stay here. Internet service for laptops or tablets is slow and sometimes spotty. The Bistro has an excellent chef although in winter, it is open limited days. If the snow is falling heavily, you'll need a suitable vehicle and tires to drive the 1A. A little compact with all-season tires won't do it.

Room Tip: I stayed at No. 18 in the main lodge, which is best for two people. Have seen the cabins too which w...

We have stayed at Baker Creek Chalets 7 or 8 times in the last 10 years and it has become a tradition for our Sept. vacation plans. The accommodations are a bit rustic, but we prefer staying at places with soul and ambience over cold, generic, "luxury" non-memorable places for the same price. The suite over looking the river has everything you need for a wonderful weeks stay at Lake Louise. The balcony overlooking the stream, the convienient little kitchen, rocking chair by the fireplace, cosy upstairs loft bed, jacuzzi tub all make the room very comfortable and fun. The Bistro is good for convienience and good food. We will be returning to BCC in the future.

Room Tip: The end room overlooking the river is the best.

My husband and I stayed in one of the Trapper's Cabins for a four night stay and absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was beautiful and you really can't help but walk inside and instantly feel relaxed and comfortable. From the huge wood burning fireplace, to the leather high back chairs in front of the fireplace (which are so comfortable) to the jacuzzi and the nice, big cozy bed, I never wanted our stay to end. The porch that runs the entire length of the cabin is wonderful for sitting in the morning with a coffee, looking to see what kind of wild life you can spot, not to mention that the Trapper's cabins each have their own barbeque. There is a tiny kitchenette in the cabin but we did all our meals on the bbq, even our breakfast! Anything we needed for the bbq, we just called the front desk and they would bring over for us to use. I notice a few people commented on the train going by and that it was noisy. Yes, there is a train track that runs along the river and yes you do hear it, but we didn't find it bothersome at all, it actually added to the rustic charm of where you were staying. Our stay was over the Valentines weekend and on Valentine's Day there was a knock on our door and it was two staff members who were going around the entire camp giving flowers to all the female guests. Such a nice surprise. Without doubt, the most romantic stay we've ever had. Since there are no phones or TV's, you're just enjoying the company of the person or people that you're with. We both look forward to our next visit to this wonderful place.
