“Great experience in the rockies”

Lovely wooden buildings, great breakfast and excellent dinner service. Its on the heritage road and away from the towns. The nearby creek is nice to. A varitey of options available to suit different budgets - from individual log cabins, to suits in the lodge that I had. I would highly recommended it for those wanting to stay near banf and lake louise but want to avoid the usual corporate hotels.

We stayed over a week in a two bedroom chalet at Baker Creek Chalets in August.

Our cabin was delightful - clean, bright, beautifully decorated and well organized. Many features of the cabin are very modern: a fireplace insert that toasts up the cabin space nicely, a wonderful bathroom with a large shower and ample sink space, well constructed windows with screens to let in plenty of fresh air but not mosquitoes, and a kitchen area with ample cooking supplies. Towels and linens were fine. There was lots of space in the cabin - a small closet in the main room and each bedroom had a separate closet. There was a large table with bench seating in the main room, plus a couch and a rocker.

The grounds and our cabin's design cleverly provided privacy from neighboring cabins so we felt secluded and enjoyed the quiet of our quarters. It's obvious that this place is well loved and all of our interactions with the staff were great. There are several cabins on the grounds, plus a larger lodge and a separate restaurant building (Baker Creek Bistro).

After consulting TripAdvisor, we choose Baker Creek Chalets for two reasons. 1) convenient access to Lake Louise and YoHo Hiking areas without the chaos of the Lake Louise Village area. The location really was spectacular and felt very quiet and peaceful. The drive to Lake Louise Village was about 15 minutes and we frequently saw wildlife, including black bears and grizzly bears. 2) Convenience of the Baker Creek Bistro. We planned numerous long day hikes and wanted quick access to good meals afterwards. Unfortunately, the restaurant had just changed chef/staff and food was disappointing (restaurant was uneven in food, take out pizzas improved over time and ended up great) so we chose to do more picnics in the room than we had planned - there is a nice grocery store in Lake Louise Village!

We would definitely stay at Baker Creek Chalets again (but I would consult reviews of the Bistro before planning on meals there).

Stayed here for a conference and loved it all. Rustic but comfortable accommodations and a staff that is so nice, it is hard to believe. All of our needs were taken care of with a smile and it made for a delightful stay. Its a perfect location between Banff and Lake Louise and the Bistro is amazing. The chef is first rate and an unexpected surprise with top rated cuisine.

We stayed here in late May for 5 days and loved it. There were elk grazing on the property our first few days, making for a perfect welcome. We traveled with our infant son and wanted a place with a kitchen and separate bedroom so we wouldn't be trapped during naps/early bedtime. The staff was great, setting up a portable crib for us upon arrival and answering questions when needed. The property was quiet and natural and the setting on the creek can't be beat. The meal we had in the restaurant was one of the best I've ever had. It is a bit of a drive to get anywhere, but that is part of the appeal.

this place was awesome, we did lots of walking around, saw lots of wildlife. there was a train that drove by and the noise did not bother us at all but added to the glory. perfect view of the mountains. and it even snowed a little bit for us. the staff were very nice and it would be a perfect spot to stay over night and go skiing/snowboarding at lake louise in the morning. breathtaking.

Room Tip: any room/chalet is good. nothing bad about this place. everyone should experience baker creek.

We spent two nights in the jacuzzi suite with full kitchen and it was amazing! You are close enough to Lake Louise to partake in activities there (we did the Plain of Six Glaciers Hike), but far enough away to enjoy the beautiful scenery and serenity of Banff Park! We cooked dinner in the fully equipped kitchen that had a small frig, stove, oven, microwave, sink and dishes/utensils. It was perfect to sit by the fireplace and enjoy our meal with a glass of wine!
The jacuzzi tub was also perfect to relax our muscles after our 5 hour hike up the mountain!
The charm and decor of the place add to the ambiance - we loved all the personal touches!

We would recommend this place to anyone heading to Lake Louise and definitely won't be staying anywhere else the next time we are in the area!

Room Tip: Full kitchen is definitely the way to go!

We stayed 2 nights at the end of September. We had a cabin by the creek and could not have wished for a more lovely setting. Very peaceful and relaxing. Cabins were well stocked, although it would have been better if the glassware were not plastic. The staff were all very helpful and polite. Some reviews say the trains were noisy, we did not find them so, and anyway they only ran very occasionally. The cabins are located on the very quiet and beautiful Bow River Parkway, between Lake Louise and Banff, which is ideal. If you want entertainment, this is not the place to be, but getting close to nature and peaceful surroundings, you will not find better. After a day out sightseeing, we came back to a warm cabin, cooked dinner and relaxed in the evening by the real log fire. Lovely to have no television as well. If ever we are in the area again, we would not go anywhere else.
