“Charming and Rustic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2012

My partner and I just celebrated our five year anniversary at the Baker Creek Chalets. We chose the romantic jacuzzi suite for the occasion. The design, architecture and decor were very rustic, mountainish (is that a word?) and charming. The owners have left no detail unattended to. The rooms, buildings and grounds are impeccably maintained. I should also mention that the rooms are VERY quiet ... there were guests in the adjoining rooms on both sides and we never heard a thing. Having an onsite restaurant was a definite plus as we did not even leave the premises! The restaurant is five star ... in a warm cozy setting. The staff are friendly and efficient. I have been lucky enough to stay at a few five star B&B's in Alberta ... That Country Place in Hanna, and The Prairie Creek Inn in Rocky Mountain House, to name a couple. What struck me at the end of our stay at Baker Creek is that it possesses the same pride of ownership and attention to detail as a small B&B, only on a larger scale. I would highly recommend Baker Creek Chalets for a couple just wanting "to get away from it all". This weekend (Nov. 2-4) had about 40% occupancy, which suited us to a tee! We stayed on the second floor of the Elk Lodge and our balcony overlooked Baker Creek. We looked at a cabin but chose a room in the Elk Lodge. The wonderful thing is that they have an accommodation to suit everyone. When I viewed the cabin with a loft with a cabin ladder and twin beds I thought how much kids would love it! A perfect destination whether you are travelling solo, as a couple, with friends, or as a family.

Room Tip: The rooms backing onto the creek, whether in the lodge, or cabins, are more private (in my opinion).

We stayed in the Jacuzzi suite. Room was spotless and had everything that was expected.
We had breakfast and dinner at the Bistro and it was delicious.
Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Izzy the cat was pretty nice too!
Can't wait to return!

Lovely wooden buildings, great breakfast and excellent dinner service. Its on the heritage road and away from the towns. The nearby creek is nice to. A varitey of options available to suit different budgets - from individual log cabins, to suits in the lodge that I had. I would highly recommended it for those wanting to stay near banf and lake louise but want to avoid the usual corporate hotels.

We stayed over a week in a two bedroom chalet at Baker Creek Chalets in August.

Our cabin was delightful - clean, bright, beautifully decorated and well organized. Many features of the cabin are very modern: a fireplace insert that toasts up the cabin space nicely, a wonderful bathroom with a large shower and ample sink space, well constructed windows with screens to let in plenty of fresh air but not mosquitoes, and a kitchen area with ample cooking supplies. Towels and linens were fine. There was lots of space in the cabin - a small closet in the main room and each bedroom had a separate closet. There was a large table with bench seating in the main room, plus a couch and a rocker.

The grounds and our cabin's design cleverly provided privacy from neighboring cabins so we felt secluded and enjoyed the quiet of our quarters. It's obvious that this place is well loved and all of our interactions with the staff were great. There are several cabins on the grounds, plus a larger lodge and a separate restaurant building (Baker Creek Bistro).

After consulting TripAdvisor, we choose Baker Creek Chalets for two reasons. 1) convenient access to Lake Louise and YoHo Hiking areas without the chaos of the Lake Louise Village area. The location really was spectacular and felt very quiet and peaceful. The drive to Lake Louise Village was about 15 minutes and we frequently saw wildlife, including black bears and grizzly bears. 2) Convenience of the Baker Creek Bistro. We planned numerous long day hikes and wanted quick access to good meals afterwards. Unfortunately, the restaurant had just changed chef/staff and food was disappointing (restaurant was uneven in food, take out pizzas improved over time and ended up great) so we chose to do more picnics in the room than we had planned - there is a nice grocery store in Lake Louise Village!

We would definitely stay at Baker Creek Chalets again (but I would consult reviews of the Bistro before planning on meals there).

Stayed here for a conference and loved it all. Rustic but comfortable accommodations and a staff that is so nice, it is hard to believe. All of our needs were taken care of with a smile and it made for a delightful stay. Its a perfect location between Banff and Lake Louise and the Bistro is amazing. The chef is first rate and an unexpected surprise with top rated cuisine.

We stayed here in late May for 5 days and loved it. There were elk grazing on the property our first few days, making for a perfect welcome. We traveled with our infant son and wanted a place with a kitchen and separate bedroom so we wouldn't be trapped during naps/early bedtime. The staff was great, setting up a portable crib for us upon arrival and answering questions when needed. The property was quiet and natural and the setting on the creek can't be beat. The meal we had in the restaurant was one of the best I've ever had. It is a bit of a drive to get anywhere, but that is part of the appeal.

this place was awesome, we did lots of walking around, saw lots of wildlife. there was a train that drove by and the noise did not bother us at all but added to the glory. perfect view of the mountains. and it even snowed a little bit for us. the staff were very nice and it would be a perfect spot to stay over night and go skiing/snowboarding at lake louise in the morning. breathtaking.

Room Tip: any room/chalet is good. nothing bad about this place. everyone should experience baker creek.
