“sooooo beautiful!”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary there last weekend. We stayed in the Trapper's cabin...wood burning fireplace, double jacuzzi..wish I was there still! It was clean, cozy, romantic...and you can't beat the scenery of the mountains. We loved how there were no televisions and I was happy to get no cell service as well! The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was quite tasty!! Can't wait to go back.

My wife and I had booked into Baker Creek Chalets/Bistro for a romantic birthday celebration this past weekend. We had a wonderful time relaxing and reading in and around Chalet #1 – which is a cute and quaint 1 bedroom loft (definitely book the Chalets on the creek side # 1 - #4). Unfortunately the hiking trails were still fairly snow covered so we couldn’t go hiking. We even had a Fondue party the Saturday evening with friends from Canmore and Lake Louise.

The dinner at the Bistro was fantastic and service professional (thank you Sydney and to the new girl – sorry never got her name). The dinner portions were surprisingly big with many Gluten Free and Vegan option. The only criticisms related to the breakfasts (we opted for the Bed and Breakfast special which was good value as you get to choose from about 95% of the items on the menu with only a slight up charge for the items that are not included with the B & B special), the portions were NOT as generous as the dinner portions (could have included some toast with some of the menu items, i.e., Temple Mtn Hash, and hash browns with the Huevos Rancheros – both were still very good by the way), also, the food wasn’t as warm as it could have been – but not enough to give a bad review…

Over all, The Baker Creek Chalets & Bistro was a fantastic weekend away, with warm, friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely book again, next time in the winter so we can get some great ski touring & Xc skiing in and retire in a cozy chalet.

Room Tip: Book a creekside chalet #1 - #4.

Left the kids at home and got away from it all. Peace and tranquility, Canadian style. Really enjoyed the jacuzzi suites at the lodge.

Been to various mountain ranges in North America and nothing tops the Canadian Rockies in Banff National Park. Jaw dropping scenery, plentiful wildlife, top eateries(right at Baker Creek in fact).

Myself and a group of friends stayed in Baker Creek in mid April and simply blown away! The location (11km out of town) was prefect and all the cabins fitted beautifically into the landscape. Having arrived late we thought we would be hit with a fee - instead a member of the team had left a nice welcome note on the door and circled where our cabin was and simply said 'The door's open - please let yourself in!'

The interior of the cabins were authentic and we all immediately felt at ease in our surroundings. Free wifi and snow shoes were well received added extras.

Our cabins were really clean and the beds were very comfortable. The well stocked firewood provided us with plenty of fuel for the fire while playing cards and having a few cold beers - the only downside was we had only booked in for 2 nights - wish it had been for more!
The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and provided the personal touch that alot of hotels and other lodges had not got! Would definfitely go back and recommend to other travellers

Stayed here 4 nights so we could explore the whole park. We were here mid August during berry eating season for the bears and were not disappointed. Make sure you get up early, go to the nearby ski resort and take the tram or chairlift (your choice) to the top. For a few extra bucks breakfast is included. Dress warm. We saw a bear on the way up and probably the same one going back down right under the chair lift. From the lookout at the top you can see the whole valley and lake Louise! On a good day it is spectacular.

Cute cabins and nice restaurant along a stream- couldn't ask for more.

We booked a one nighter here in Baker creek in a room as the chalets had a 3 night stay minium, we got room# 31, closer to the enterance of the resort, the check in was quick and the staff was very friendly :)

Our room was STUNNING, the high ceiling over the fire place was beautifully done with logs and wood work, the room was clean, the jacuzzi was great especially after a long hike in johnstons canyon, it was great to have the fire place on, the patio doors open and relaxing in the jacuzzi before we head over to the bistro on site, as soon as we walked into the bistro you could smell the fresh wood burning fireplace, it had such a majestic feel to it, the only complaint that i would have with the bistro are the $10.00 drinks and $35.00 steaks, i understand that its substantially more expensive when you eat at the resorts in the mountains but still its abit steep; price wise for what you get, however regardless i would stay over and over again, bed was out of this world comfy, will be back for sure at least a couple times this summer!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the top floor and away from the train tracks

We stayed in a Jacuzzi suite for the weekend. After reading tripadvisor reviews I brought ear plugs but it was possibly the quietest night ever! Perhaps the snow dampens the sound of the trains?
The room is big, airy, nicely decorated in a bear-western theme. There was a gas fireplace that was cozy and warm. The microwave, fridge and coffee maker were all handy but really - with the Bistro on site - why warm up fast food? Fabulous dinners and worth every dollar.
They served breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Although I thought the breakfasts were too expensive, my husband disagreed and happily paid a bit extra for the convenience of eating on site.
They have complementary snow shoes, there is a small skating rink, there are great groomed x-c ski tracks across the road and you're close to other wonderful ski trails and slopes. A welcome surprise was to get to our car in the morning and find the snow cleaned off!
There was a great meeting/games room in the basement of our lodge which would be wonderful for a big group.
