Most travelers head to the Lake Agnes teahouse, but head towards Victoria glacier to get away from the crowds. It is a 5.5 km hike from the Chateau.

Most rewarding is the bird's view of Lake Louise Chateau and the lake. Once at the tea house, sit outside on the veranda to enjoy the panorama.

Hiking the 6 plains glacier trail you'll find this great scenic stop at the top. A welcome sight. You'll find a nice menu of pastries, sandwiches, and a wide variety of teas. It's very homely and at once you feel like part of the family.

Had the hot soup and the apple pie with maple black tea. Delish! Great service and very friendly. Lovely 2 dogs that protect the site from bears and porcupines. Just sit back have your tea and relax and enjoy the beauty of banff and lake louise area.

It may not look like much, but to us its a favourite (and not easy to get to) place. The tea, hot chocolate, pies and pastries are surprisingly good considering there is no electricity and everything is cooked on a wood burning stove.

This was a welcome, very attractive little place high up in the meadows and forests.I can't honestly say the Apple Pie was any good (it was soggy and overly sweet) and our tea was cold but it didn't really matter, what a welcome place for a stop and to enjoy the stunning surroundings, hence the 4 stars.Nice peple to talk to and find out about the area; a grizzly has lived up in the meadows there for some years now and has raised cubs.
The walk itself is well worth it and is 5 star - taking you easily on a fine path up into high country, through forest and meadow. It is well worth heading on for another 1km or so to the edge of the moraines, to hear and see the glaciers up closer and enjoy the big peaks for longer.A wonderfully wild spot far, far from the madding crowds down below in Lake Louise. We set off early - around 8.45am and had it pretty much to ourselves most of the way. However, this early, walk with bear bells and make noise, as you are told.Later on, it is so busy I'm sure bears keep well away from the sight and sound of an endless line of walkers. The far end of Lake Louise where the silt fan spreads out, looked like something out of South Pacific - soft turquoise blue against the almost white silt.Stunning.Worth walking to itself if you can't factor in the Tea House trek.

I have never enjoyed a cup of tea so much after the climb to the tea house .I do half marathons on the flat and am not good at doing hills but this hike was well worth it .It was 18 deg and sunny on the ground but we had a hailstorm on the way down.
