The hike is fantastic, though not easy, but worth it for the views. The tea house is a nice bonus. Sure the food isn't great but the thought that such a place exists is worth a visit. The server was super friendly. The food tastes better after working this hard. Remember it's all about the experience!

The hike up to the tea house is exhilarating with great views back to Lake Louise and the Fairmont hotel. But at the tea house awaits another special reward. The staff were welcoming, and eager to share stories of life and mountain experiences. The food and tea was a welcome treat. We had the green tea; it was superb - mixed at the tea store in Banff. We also had slices of apple and blueberry pie; indulgences after the hike up. The owner told us the fascinating history of the tea house. I can't wait to come back again!

This was no must do walk, it was for me rugged climbing and the info about the level of the walk was sorely misleading. It was about a 12 km round trip from Chateau Lake Louise with a climb of over 1300 ft. It was predominantly near the top rugged and in some places loose glacial moraine. At the bottom of Lake Louise we also has to traverse the river via stepping stones which in itself proved a challenge especially on the return journey as the water levels had risen. The scenery itself was not as pleasant as Lake Agnes because of the work of the glacier. The tea house was pleasant with a warming bowl of soup and some lemonade. The lemonade though was lacking in much flavour like it barely threatened the water. All in all it was a strenuous walk over rough terrain and though glad we did would not necessarily like to repeat.

What a neat old building to linger until you push on to the end of this hike. I suggest you have a sandwich with bread that is home made and very good. Skip the gluten free brownies and definitely skip the lemonade which is watered down powder.

Not sure if I'm rating the tea house itself or the entire experience of getting there and back. The hike was fairly strenuous for city folk, but the tea house was a welcome sight once we got there. We arrived fairly early considering the hike to get there and got seated immediately. Service was excellent, friendly and laid back all at the same time. We were really hungry and thirsty so we got the sandwich with soup, pretty basic stuff but just what we needed, tea selection was good. Lastly we got a piece of the chocolate cake.... Was outstanding by any measure. Considering the location of the tea house prices weren't terrible. Last bit of advice, don't underestimate the effort to get to the tea house. We made it easily, but some turned back.
