“Cozy Ski Lodge Atmosphere”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

The Outpost Pub is located at the rear of the Outpost Hotel, through a small door into a cozy lounge complete with lounge chairs and a fireplace.

To break-it-down most simply, the Outpost Pub serves elegant pub food, reminding me of a Swiss ski chalet. The servers are notoriously professional, the food and drinks are over-priced, but why I keep returning is the general atmosphere.

I'd recommend checking-it-out, and taking a cozy spot beside the fireplace.

“Excellent food at good prices”
Reviewed 17 March 2014

The Outpost is at the end of the Post hotel, walk on by the main, and very expensive, restaurant to the entrance at the end of the building. Very cozy pub with fireplaces and your choice of eating at the bar, tables with chairs, or coffe tables with couches. Excellent, large burgers, steaks, soups, and specials. Their "medium" on the NY steak is what I would call "medium well." otherwsie, very tasty. Fries were some of the best I've had. One night they had a buffalo tenderloin in a cranberry and port sauce over pasta with many fresh (not sure where they come from in Feb in Canada) veggies. Three of us ate dinner there two nights. Other than the slightly overdone steak, it was all excellent. They seem to use the main restaurant's kitchen, which would account for the excellent food. However, their prices are very reasonable, for lake louise - $15 for burger lasrge enough for two, $25 for the steak, and $18 for the to-die-for tenderlon and pasta. Also, very good wines at $8 to $13 a glass. And, many beers of course. Very few people when we were there - early evening mid-week and 20 below. Service was excellent.
