“beautiful meal in a beautiful location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2013

The service was excellent, and the food was very well prepared and presented. I had the scallops as a starter with the rack of venison as the main course. I thoroughly enjoyed both. This is a restaurant I will return to.

“Best meal we had during six days in Banff.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2013

My wife and I walked into the Moraine Lake Lodge with no reservations and were very fortunate to find an open table. The bread service was accompanied by three types of butter and cheese spreads which were all delicious. For a starter, we got the cream of asparagus soup which was also great. But the main course of halibut with avocado butter atop Bhutanese red rice was to die for! Hands down, the best meal we had during our six day stay in Banff. Highly recommend reservations and request a table along the back window for an excellent view of the lake.

“Fine dining in an awesome setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2013

We stayed at the lodge three nights, and ate here twice. Like the lodge, the meals are expensive, but worth it.
The waitstaff is knowledgeable and attentive. The food is perfectly cooked and the portions are just right. The baby veggies that accompany the main course are exceptionally good: 3-inch zuchinis are the way to go! We had halibut and trout, which were moist and flaky. One night we shared a fantastic bread pudding for dessert.
This is a great place to spend a lovely evening.

“Pricey but a little piece of heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2013

Lovely wooden cabins set among the trees alongside the lake. Huge bed and open fire in the room which makes for a cosy evening. Tea and coffee facilities in the room and a pretty balcony to sit on. This was our luxury stay in a long trip to canada and the price includes breakfast, nature and history talks, Joel was particularly good, canoe use, guided hikes. Check the website to see what days these run as worth booking to get full use of these. The lodge closes on October 1st as the road is a dangerous avalanche area.
