A great museum! We allowed two hours and we probably needed a little more time. Wonderful staff upon entering the museum.Added bonus for Vancouver Art Gallery members (we get in free)!
The summer exhibition is well curated and organized. They have a Dali that is so large they needed to cut the ceiling to accommodate it! The top two floors are all about Canadian history of Alberta and the prairies.

“Fascinating museum in downtown Calgary”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

This beautifully designed museum offers an unusual and engaging presentation of Alberta's history. Artifacts and videos tell the stories of the original Blackfeet tribes as well as the newcomers who brought the trains, mines, and resorts. One can sit in a teepee, walk through a train car, and view amazing photographs of both the famous and the ordinary people who contributed to Alberta's success.

“o.k.”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Went here after a lot of hype about it but I thought other museums such as Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump were better. The layout was confusing and I think they tried to make it difficult to move around, and they have! Not the greatest.

“Great museum !!!”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Not being a museum lover I went along with hubbie who wanted to go !
What a great place, really well laid out with lots of interesting displays! I enjoyed it which for me means it has to be good.
We only managed to do the first two floors as we ran out of time
It gave a real oversight into the history if the area, lots to look at
I would recommend Glenbow museum for an entertaining couple of hours ?

“so much to see , so little time”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

There is no way you can see all this museum has to offer! Close to Calgary tower so you
can do that also. Except to get to the top I think you have to have reservations for the
restaurant. They had paintings from the great masters of art and also an extensive
Indian history section. Some cool glassworks done by todays artists. Best to
check website as I'm sure there collection changes.
