A good hotel for business, centrally located near major oil and gas companies. The hotel staff were friendly, my room was clean. The drawback is that the bathrooms in the hotel are ridiculously small and awkwardly laid out. The shower is much smaller and more narrow than most coat closets. It is crammed behind the toilet. A thin strip of glass runs down the front of the shower, meaning your backside freezes as you are showering! Without being indelicate, when perched on "the throne" your knees scrape the wall in front of you. On top of this, the bathroom and closet door is shared on a sliding door system with no lock. As soon as someone in the room next door closed their door, the darn sliding door flew sideways to leave yours truly (with scraped knees) exposed on the throne to the rest of the room. If I was on holiday in a historic pension in Europe these would be quaint, in Calgary on business, it was just plain annoying!

Nice hotel in a great location. within walking distance of everything downtown .. We walked to princess island park and had a picnic.. The beds are comfy and the pool on the roof is pretty cool . That said it needs a good scrub around the edges... The products here smell great..

Not a bad place to stay in downtown Calgary, close to all the downtown action and a short walk from Eau Claire and the river.
The buffet breakfast is a little pricey at $27 but the service is great.
They have their regular tower and a business tower. As a regular SPG traveler, they may want to offer the business tower as an upgrade. The regular tower is actually nicer in that it has been renovated, where the business tower has not been updated.
All said, it is a great place to get a comfortable night's sleep and with the Keg and a Starbucks on site, it is pretty complete.
One thing to watch for is the Internet service, if using wireless, count on the service being dropped on a regular basis.

Room Tip: 17 floor in regular tower smells smokey as if all rooms have been smoked in previously.

Yep some parts of the Westin are a bit dated!
But overall one will not be disappointed as a business traveler.
The breakfast buffet was delicious albeit a tad expensive at $28.00
There is a Keg restaurant on the ground floor and an outdoor patio that is comfortable and airy.
I had requested a King bed but accepted a room with 2 double beds and an upgrade. Good deal for me.
Internet connectivity was outstanding, and easy to get connected from all parts of the hotel.
Heavenly mattresses delivered an exceptional good nights sleep.

Great value overall.

Room Tip: North side of the hotel is away from the busiest street. Parking is around back of the hotel underground!

We stayed three nights here with our four-year old.

This is a nicely renovated Westin with a great location, halfway between the central shopping areas and the Eau Claire Market and river parks. At the time of booking, we received a third-night free promotion that made our stay here a decent value - otherwise, it can be extremely expensive as Calgary is a popular business destination with hotel pricing to match.

The overall design follows the Westin formula, with an understated spa-like ambience and businesslike service that suited our family fine. Our deluxe two-queen room was extremely spacious and had lots of space for the little one to move about in. Fixtures and other amenities were all up-to-date and top notch - including in-room Starbucks coffee, which I always appreciate. The bathroom was nicely done, and Westin's trademark Heavenly beds, showers, and robes were all present and accounted for.

The rooftop pool and gym are notable, with wraparound views of the city. As we stayed during a relatively quiet time, we often had the entire facility to ourselves. It was very memorable spending an hour or two up there as a family, enjoying the pool, hot tub, sunshine, and fabulous views of the skyline in complete privacy.

We ordered room service a couple of times, which was costly, but offered good food and relatively generous portions.

Overall, this is a fine city hotel in a great location. For business travel, this would be one of my top choices in Calgary. If you can find a discounted rate or promotion for your leisure stay, I would also jump on it.

Room Tip: The Deluxe grade rooms are very generously sized, if you are looking for more space.
