This hotel is all you would hope from a Westin in the booming city of Calgary. Apart from the business folks in the lobby sporting cowboy hats (not even ironically), and one rather snooty waitress in the (in-house) Keg, all was attention, quality and luxury. You have to see the roof-top pool and gym, to know what real fitness facilities are (with a fabulous view). I was there for a conference and even the conference food was very good and fresh. The room was beautifully appointed, with a comfy king-sized bed and armchair. The Liquids lobby bar, as well as the outdoor Keg patio were great for people-watching, and they let me sit and read with a glass of wine for as long as I wanted to. The hotel is close to everything-- even the zoo is walking distance.

Room Tip: The higher, the better the view.

Stayed here for 5 days during a business conference in Calgary. The check-in was super quick and the staff was really nice. Room was well appointed and comfortable with a decent view past the construction to the park and hills beyond. The bathroom was a little tight and I didn't care much for the sliding bathroom door as is would get rolling and then bounce back at you when you slid it open or closed. I'm not one needs housekeeping each day and I really appreciated the option to put a sign out on the door that I was participating in their green program. Each morning, I received a $5 card that I could use at the Starbucks in the hotel or turn it into 500 rewards points. I wish more hotels would do that! Only unpleasant episode was navigating 15 flights of stairs and getting dizzy from going in circles during a fire alarm. Props to management for being very kind and passing out water bottles to the guests while we waited for the all clear to reenter the hotel. It's in a great location and most everything is accessible by foot and if you need any directions, the staff is more than willing to help.

Stayed here for 2 nights in June 2014. Hotel room was comfortable, however it was quite small compared to other Westin Hotels. Room came with a shower rather than a bath however there was still the usual Westin toiletries. The walls were very thin as every time someone opened or closed a door it could be heard in the room. There is a Starbucks in the lobby for a quick bite to eat. Parking was 19 dollars a night at weekend. Concierge was helpful and informative.

Stayed 1 night last wednesday.

Pro's
1. check-in was smooth and very pleasant
2. breakfast buffet was very good (our waitress was TOP notch)
3. right in the heart of downtown
4. having 'The Keg' attached that is open late is a plus

Con's
1. gym is sub-par - comprised of two very small rooms (weights/cardio)
2. valet seemed to be very unorganized as we had to ask three times for our vehicle which made us late for our meeting
3. no mini-bar in the room, didn't see vending machines on floor or signs for vending machines
4. bathrooms and decor feel old and tired

To sum it up...I expect more from a Westin when paying close to $400 a night.

My first time in Calgary on a business trip - the Westin is a really nice hotel. The city was very busy with an oil and gas conference on. I had a corner suite which was one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in. Quite expensive mind at $400 CAD per night.

The room was very large with sitting area and lovely, large bathroom.

Staff were excellent - really good when I wanted to book a hire car at short notice. Breakfast was very nice as was the attached steak restaurant and bar. Travelling by yourself can be a pain at times - in this case it was nice to sit at the bar and have a nice meal in comfortable surrounds and friendly staff.

In summary would recommend to stay here when in Calgary.
