“Pretty Good and Above Expectations”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

Stayed here for two nights, and I have been pleased with everything. This was one of the cheapest hotels I can find in the city, and also accepting pets. I love the hotel's pet fee policy. I have 2 small dogs, and the hotel only charges $10. Its policy at this time is $10 per stay, doesn't matter whether you have 1, or more pets. I'm sure there's a limit on how many pets you can bring, but this is the best pet fee I've seen anywhere, ever. The continental breakfast ran from 6:30am - 10am, which was a decent amount of time for everyone to get up. The breakfast had a really good selection, including milk, cereal, hot beverages, juice, muffins, two kinds of croissants, waffles, fruits, eggs, bagels, and more. The room itself is good for a thrifty hotel chain. The AC was really loud and turned on automatically to adjust to the room temperature. The room also had a microwave and mini fridge. The bathroom was nice, including toiletries, shoe shine cloth, make-up remover wipes, and the towels are nice, big and fluffy. There were a couple of stains on the carpet, and both chairs in the room are stained. The pillows were really lumpy, and I can't say I had a great night of sleep the first night. The TV display was not very clear, but it was large enough size to be seen from anywhere in the room. The wi-fi was pretty much useless the first night we were here. The front desk said it was because there were too many people using it at the same time. I didn't believe her, but lo and behold, it cleared up around midnight and everything was running swiftly. The location was fine for me, as I had a vehicle and could easily access anywhere in the city. I didn't get a chance to check out what was in the area.

Carpet was wet (from a shampoo) Scented freshener in room was fairly strong. Black hair on soap side of sink. Squashed insect on beside table and black stains on bedding. Motorcycles left 5am from outside my window. Window open for chemical smell to dissapate. Lots of highway noise generally. Staff more empathetic in morning than gentleman in the evening. It was explained to me earlier at check in that Booking.com oversold the hotel and the room I booked was not available and I was in a 2 D bed room instead of one with a sitting area.

The quality was as expected in the hotel chain, clean but a little dated. good breakfast and room size. The "WiFi/Internet" was embarrassing. This was the first stay there will have to be the last for this reason. Speed maxed at 10kb even after troubleshooting. Wireless router in hallway right out side of room with full conection strength. Forced to teather thru phone to do any work or browsing. Very Noisy AC unit
