“Surprisingly Comfortable....Great Staff!”
Reviewed 4 August 2012

Went for a Swim meet. Rooms might have been a little bit smaller than we had hoped for but, beds were amazingly comfortable. Karen (manager) was wonderful...accommodating and available. Catering team was very helpful and flexible.

My cousin was married here this year and the only complaint I have is that you could only access the floor that your room was on. So if I wanted to go to the top floor to visit family they had to come down and get me. Not so good when you have lots of family staying for the wedding. the wedding food was amazing and the staff cleaned everything up for you at the end of the night!

Stayed here end of June 2012. Hotel is nice, clean and has a good location. Older property but good up keep. Need room key to operate elevator. This is a little inconvient. We arrived after a 12 hr drive from BC on a hot day. Were happy to see bottles of water on table in room. Not so happy to see they were not free. Noticed placemat with price after we had both cracked in to a bottle. Bad enough to charge for water but to charge for water that is not even refridgerated!!!??? Breakfast was OK. Staff was friendly. Good location.

Very friendly staff, nice room, on the older side, but yet, very clean and practical. Love the location, central to everything. Nice facilities around, good shopping. Quiet room.
A little pricey though.

Friendly staff... and that's the good news folks.

*Food? Quite simply well below satisfactory, especially room service. Rubbery salmon, cold turkey gravy, I won't go on.
*The lift needed a swipe card to move - really not very handy, when you've hands full of luggage... and one day, having selected floor 4 it dropped me off cheerfully at floor 5 for no apparent reason.
*The gym was unusable due to the pipes running through and causing a 30 degree C temp with accompanying bad smell. Considering how cold Calgary was, this was impressive though not useful for working out.
*WIFI was variable in quality and my iphone kept dropping signal in the room, though to be fair, it was at least free to access.

Having politely pointed out all of these issues to them and asking for an email response, they still haven't got back to me 2 weeks later. Lets just say, I'm not surprised.

It is not rundown but a good way of describing this hotel is "dated". It is like being in a late 1960's time warp. The browns and beiges of a long gone era. The only thing missing was orange shag carpets.

The room, however, was clean and the staff very friendly. The convention venue was excellent.

Their breakfast brunch is pretty mundane. There is a bake-shop kiosk, in the lobby, that has wonderful looking challah and baked goods from my childhood.

2 bars are adjacent to the lobby. The "Peanuts" bar is apparently famous for their steak on a bun. The other bar is dark, dingy and full of those video gambling terminals.

Would I stay here again - not likely. It is in need of a serious renovation but I have been in worse hotels.

Stayed over weekend for party in Calgary. Some slight disruptions due to construction ongoing. It was not a noise problem or anything but entrance slightly hidden.
Front desk staff amazing. Went way out of their way to help out. Overall the hotel is in a wonderful southwest location, has fun bars and superb staff

Room Tip: Did not use the spa facilities or eat breakfast. Had one suite on 2 floor and 1 room on 9 floor. B...
