We have driven past this hotel countless times and always thought it interesting. For various reasons we had to spend a night away from our house and did not want to impose on relatives. So it was a perfect excuse to try this hotel. What a delightful and pleasant surprise. It was fun playing the tourist in your own city from this hotel. No need to repeat its unique decor and comfortable atmosphere. The hotel lent us their cruising bicycles and we discovered parts of the city we would not normally go through. The bikes are just one of the many nice touches you can experience at this hotel.

This boutique inn across the Bow River from downtown Calgary is an intimate yet upscale charmer. Formerly a B&B, this stylish boutique hotel opened about 8 years ago in the trendy neighbourhood of Kensington. Enter this modern mansion and help yourself to a glass of bottled water when you check in. We each received a breakfast voucher worth $20 and were told a tray would be placed outside our room door in the morning with a carafe of coffee and mini-cini bun and newspaper. The room was well-appointed with terry towel robes and slippers, an oversized bath tub and rain shower head and nightstand music system. Patio doors from our main floor room opened up onto a little terrace with bistro table and chairs. The potted jade plant on the desk beside free glass bottled water was also a nice touch.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the main floor if you want to enjoy your terrace in the summer. Despite being next...

This has to be one of Calgary’s best keep little secret! I stayed here one night for the first time and sure it will not be my last. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and put together very nicely!

We stayed at this hotel for the last night of a skiing trip to the Rocky Mountains.
It is a very special place as it feels very different to other american high rise 5 star hotels.
It has a personal touch, very delicious food and the staff is extremely attentive and helpful.
We would return anytime!

Our first stay at "Kensington" was an absolute delight! The staff were incredibly polite and sensitive to our needs. Our hat's off to the "Chef"! What fabulous meals. Also, thank you to Phil, (our server) William, Martha, Peter, and all the rest of your well trained and personable stewards!
We loved the privacy and the quiet, that this quaint Inn provided! Also appreciated was the location, nearby shops, and underground parking.
All minor issues were taken care of by staff very promptly.
We will definitely return to your intimate fortress in the future!!

Room Tip: We recommend phoning the "Inn" for booking your room. Speaking to a "real person&quo...

Everything was thought out to perfection. Great service - I enjoyed the complimentary coffee thermos by the door in the morning - together with the newspaper. Very tasteful design, special with the fireplace. Delicious breakfast. Only minor issue was the shuffling of chairs in the great hall across the stone floor - sounded like big furniture was moved. One can buy pads to put under the legs of the chairs at the $-store!

We stayed for 3 nights in this beautiful neighborhood hotel. The amenities were great, service was great, and they even had a heated underground parking garage for each guest. Very small and intimate, with a very nice restaurant inside (Chef's Table). Well worth the stay.
