We travelled with our 18 month old toddler to the Regency Hyatt Calgary in early May 2009. My wife was having her conference in the hotel, so we were given a room on their 18th Floor, which is their Regency Hyatt Club floor. We were given access to their lounge room, which included:

1) Computer with high-speed internet and printer
2) Long distance phone calls
3) Breakfast
4) Evening appetizers & alcohol
5) A big screen TV
6) Non-alcoholic beverages

Yeah, it was really nice lounge room. I was impressed. I am a SPG member but Sheraton or Westin does not have any lounge that offers that level of amenities.

Their 18th floor also includes a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and fitness room. It was really nice to be in a hot tub over looking Calgary.

The hotel itself is conveniently located close to many attractions, including Calgary Tower, Chinatown, Eaton Centre/ TD Square, Scotia Centre etc.

The room that we received was in the corner, so it was probably slightly larger to help accomodate the crib for our toddler. The hotel offered to provide us with a portable fridge to store our baby food/ milk. That was a very nice touch.

The front desk made a mistake in giving us a room that was not cleaned yet. When they found out that mistake, they were extremely apologetic and offered us access to the lounge on the 18th floor. We had some snack and drinks while they cleaned the room. We were impressed with their level of customer service.

Overall, I was impressed with the hotel's location, services and stay. It is a little pricey but given what they offer, it is understandable.

- Do not make any long phone calls from room - you pick up the phone $14.00 - then outrageous charges if call is competed
- Internet access for those traveling without computers $4.00 for 15 minutes
- No fitted bottom sheets on the beds

this is one of the awesome hotels i have stayed in.

everything about the hotel was perfect.

food in this hotel was out of this world and would recomend the steak in the hotel.

it is well linked to other shopping areas and ideal location in down town with rail station nearby

would recomend everyone to enjoy this luxury

Stayed a couple of nights and enjoyed ourselves very much. Location was perfect. Staff was on the ball. Price was good (except for having to pay for parking). Rooms were very, very nice.

The lobby of the hotel is very impressive - the check-in desk, small. Underground parking is $25/day self-park, definitely a little pricey. There is construction right next door; luckily we were there for the long weekend so we weren't woken up early. Over all, there was nothing to complain about - but nothing to rave about either. The rooms were pretty standard, I was actually expecting them to be more stocked considering it is a 4-star hotel... about as standard as a Best Western or Sandman room, actually. Bathroom was big (a plus!) but very simple. Some areas definitely could use updating. The location was great, and breakfast was fantastic, the coffee, not so much. Wireless was $15/day?! Needless to say we went without. Good for a business meeting; next time I'll spend the extra and go for the Sheraton Eau Claire though... I got the room at a great rate, I wouldn't spend over $150/night to stay here...
