I have always wanted to stay at the Fairmont Palliser and thought a weekend getaway with my husband would be the perfect opportunity. We arrived around 4pm and did the self-park. We had a little trouble figuring out where to go (probably from being tired, there was clear signage). Check in was a breeze and we were in our room within minutes. We were in a "Fairmont King" room. The room was a decent size; I don't think you could fit 2 beds comfortably in that size of room so I hope the doubles are a little larger. Our “view” was of train tracks but I did not notice any noise from the passing trains. For the amount of time spent in the room I am not one to be concerned with a view. The bedding looked to be all brand-new and was quite different from the website. I have since read that there has been some remodelling. There was an iPod docking station and flat-screen TV. The bed was comfortable and I heard no noise from other rooms or in the hall. That night at the hotel there was some sort of party in a room just off the lobby. Other than hearing the music in the lobby there was no other sign of it in the hotel. In the morning before checkout we used the pool/hot tub and steam room. I really enjoyed the steam room.
