Bonaventure Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #11 of 58 Calgary B&B and Inns
Reviewed 30 March 2014

The B&B is comfortable with everything we needed: convenient to our south Calgary destinations; sitting room for reading or watching TV; convenient washroom; and pleasant bedroom. What makes this a great, as opposed to good destination is the hosts. The pleasant conversations around the breakfast bar with Pat and Bruce were easily the best part of our trip west. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

A contemporary home located in an established quiet neighbourhood just minutes to McLeod Trail, and shopping, business and transportation routes. Sitting around the kitchen island, my wife and I enjoyed pleasant breakfasts with Pat & Bruce including some lengthly converstations about international travels.

Bonaventure is a lovely B&B made perfect by the wonderful hosts, Pat and Bruce. They are so helpful. The twin room is small but functional and the bathroom and living room have everything you need (fridge, kettle, microwave, TV). The breakfast is lovely and we enjoyed lots of multi-cultural conversation. The wifi is perfect. Bonaventure is a great base for visiting Calgary and surrounding areas. We visited Elbow falls (45mins), Moose Mountain Horse Riding Adventures (40mins), Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area (20mins) and the local malls and restaurants. Very reasonably priced and well kept B&B. Nice and quiet, close to airport. Really dry air in Calgary- I recommend nasal sprays if you come from UK.

Room Tip: Twin room is a bit tight- hard to get to cupboards- but the double is bigger.

Thank you so much for your kindness. It was a great pleasure hosting you both as you set off on your swing through Western Canada.
We acknowledge that the twin room is on the small side which is our reason for providing the additional lounge room for our guests to relax in while enjoying the high def TV and light cooking facilities.
Again, our warmest thanks for taking the time to write this very positive review.

Spent 3 lovely nights at Bonaventure Bed and Breakfast in Calgary. Hosts Pat and Bruce have a beautiful home near Lake Bonaventure and their B&B is near a train station, restaurants and a large shopping center. Because we had arranged a tour on the first morning of our stay, Pat accommodated us by having a continental breakfast awaiting us in the a.m.; on two remaining mornings we enjoyed a hot delicious breakfast.
Pat and Bruce were entrtaining and interesting to listen to. Bruce has a background in education as does one in our group so the sharing of information was enjoyable as well as entertaining!!
If we ever get back to Calgary, we will certainly look up Bonaventure Bed and Breakfast again.
Pat and Bruce also recommended we attend nearby Heritage Park Historical Museum which we did on our last day in Calgary and must say we spent the entire day there and enjoyed it very much.

This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. Pat and Bruce are charming and welcoming, We went to Canada for the amazing hiking so we had a lot of gear. Pat and Bruce were helpful and had great suggestions to make our stay easier. Their home is beautiful in a lovely peaceful part of the city with great links to the airport and city' The house is modern and light with no clutter or chintz. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the breakfasts were delicious. This is the benchmark for other B&Bs to reach - it is a treasure.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great.

We stayed 2 nights at this B & B....it was excellent. It was spotless, the breakfasts were varied and you had a choice between hot and cold. Bruce and Pat are wonderful people and very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast conversations with them. Too they were very helpful with respect to providing information about the area. We highly recommend this B & B and will stay there on our next trip to Calgary.
