Description: We are a twist on a European Brasserie, inspired by Chef's rustic, simple and down-to-earth approach to food and cooking. We are known for our duck, hanger steak, poutines and other hearty, comfort food housemade with fresh & local ingredients. Indulgence is always on the menu here, but so are lighter seasonal favourites, like our blackened salmon salad, whole roasted trout, or veggie burger. Our Saturday & Sunday brunch is always hopping, and if chef is in the kitchen he is usually cooking up outrageous features like 32oz steak and 8 eggs. Expect an eclectic and cozy décor, with everything from your grandmas old paintings to stuffed boar trophies.

“Excellent service!”
Reviewed 17 March 2013

We celebrated a birthday at the Brasserie, and had a really nice meal. Everyone in our party has some allergy, including gluten, egg and/or peanuts. Our waitress was excellent at seeking out information from the chef if she wasn't sure about the ingredients, and we very much appreciated her patience. Two of us had the bouillabaisse, a tasty combination of mostly shellfish and cod. The broth was flavourful, with a bit of heat, and had some slices of fingerling potatoes, a nice addition. The mussels were so good! Another in the party raved about the steak with blue cheese and the duck was very much enjoyed. Two sides of vegetables were ordered, which could have been enhanced with some herbs, but were nicely prepared. Two desserts, the popcorn brittle creme brûlée and the chocolate pot de creme were lovely taste treats. The portions were adequate, but the mains, without the vegetable sides, would have left some of the party still hungry. Would we go back? Definitely.

“The fondue is fabulous!!”
Reviewed 24 February 2013

Love this place! The food is fantastic. The fondue is really good!! All their frites, and fried stuff is fried in duck fat though so that sucks for vegetarians but there are still some veggie options. My husband raved about the hanger steak. Great beer list and the drinks are reasonably priced. I would recommend reservations:)

“A treat for the taste buds”
Reviewed 17 February 2013

I tried the soup and Shar went for the veggie burger. Both were a treat for the senses. The soup was a delightful blend of heat on a cold day, tempting on the taste buds, flavourful and rich. A winning combination. The veggie burger was light, tasty and a handful. The Brasserie is another of Calgary's delights.

“local flavor”
Reviewed 13 February 2013

The food was good, and it was rocking with people. A great vibe. We ended up going twice in one week. The wait staff is friendly but not all are on top of things. We had great advice on what to eat but had to wait a long time for utensils after our food arrived, which prompted me to find my own. Mussels are good, sandwiches and frites are tasty. Good flavors.
