“Cheesetastic!”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

It's awesome. If you want a freakin' excellent poutine, this is the spot. So many different choices, that was the hard part for me. Deciding which one, so I kept it simple and stuck with an original! Awesome food, great service! The lady that manages/owns it is awesome too, she was very friendly!

“GLUTEN SCARE - BEWARE”
Reviewed 18 March 2013

The staff was really nice and seemed like a friendly place, being gluten intolerant, I noticed that they do serve gluten free poutine. I asked what the gravy was made from and the casheir had a blank stare and replied "soy" (which i highly doubt). I've been in pain ever since almost a day and a half later. I don't know if the cook put the wrong gravy on or what but its been a quite painful reaction to the food and I have to learn to never trust ANYWHERE that states gluten free. Sadly I have to give this restaurant 2 stars, one because the cashier smiled otherwise it would be a 0. Honestly, the poutine didn't taste great either. If management follow's these reviews I would ask you please to re consider your menu as being gluten free as I suffered a long and painful gluten reaction to your 'gluten free' poutine.

“Amazing poutine!”
Reviewed 12 March 2013

As a Canadian that lives overseas, I get some mighty cravings for poutine -- and this shop did NOT disappoint! Though I was a little intimidated by all of my possible choices, eventually you just pick one and you can't go wrong! The portions were very big and the taste was beyond delicious. The staff was very kind. I love that the poutine comes in boxes that you can take out if you wish. On top of that, there are old (80s) cartoons playing on the TV! What fun! This was a great place to get the poutine I was craving.

“perfect for any occasion.....”
Reviewed 3 March 2013

.....snowy sunday afternoon or right after a fun night out at the bars, the Big Cheese is definitely worth going to. The staff are friendly, and were happy to help this indecisive eater make a choice. There are vegetarian options, as well as regular poutine, and beef, chicken and pork creations. Any restaurant where you can see into the kitchen makes me happy; the decor is fun and a little retro, and very clean. This would be a great date spot, or to take out of town guests to experience something you definitely can't find everywhere, and that is very canadian.
