Radisson Hotel & Conference Centre Calgary Airport
Ranked #15 of 110 Hotels in Calgary
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 23 July 2014

As a frequent traveler, you don't usually envision an airport hotel as a treat. The rooms are usually functional, clean and suitable for an overnight stay during a flight transition, but a stay at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center at the Calgary Airport is an entirely different experience!!! You are greeted by staff that are actually happy to see you, call you by name and go out of their way to insure that you are happy with your room. And the room! I have stayed in many an airport hotel, but few have come with a double sided fireplace, a walk in shower you could hold a dance in with triple shower heads, a jacuzzi tub, floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom with king sized bed. The restaurant provides a good selection of menu items and the wine bar serves as a sophisticated retreat after your required meetings. The hotel is new and pristine. Complementary airport transfers are provided and parking is free. However, as any traveler appreciates, most importantly, it's the STAFF who provide warm and friendly assistance at every opportunity, who make this travel experience memorable. This hotel is a must stay if you are passing through Calgary!!!!

We stayed here for 2 nights during the stampede, and it worked well for us. We could walk to the train. Inside of the hotel is very well done, restaurant was excellent, pool was well maintained and not too cold. My daughter enjoyed the slide. Sauna was an added bonus. Room was very comfortable and clean. Only down side is the location is not near any of the tourist activities or shops, within walking distance. You need to either have a car or take the train. But if you have a vehicle and can get around easily, it's a great choice. We would stay here again.

We stayed here as it was excellent value during stampede week. The rooms are big, the bathrooms great and the meal we had in Ric's Grill was good. The C Train is close by and we could have walked but it is not well lit at night so the hotel offered to come pick us up from the C Train which was very welcome. In the end we did drive. C Train not busy from that side of town into and out of the Stampede which was good. Within a 10 min drive there are also plenty of restaurants to choose from. I understand there will be a more direct road built from the airport and when that happens I am sure the prices will go up but for now excellent value if you don't mind the drive from the airport.

Room Tip: Ask for a room which doesn't overlook the car scrap yard, but to be honest I don't think it...

Stayed here for two nights and overall liked it. The reception staff were friendly and checked us in quickly.

We had a suite on the top floor and it was very nicely done and spacious with a large bedroom and attached HUGE bathroom with separate bath and shower. The shower is a walk in affair large enough for two. The separate living area has a fire, TV and tea and coffee making facilities and it's own toilet. The air con is very effective if a little noisy.

We ate in Rics bar and found the staff very friendly and food well prepared and tasty with massive portions. Breakfast especially was good value.

A lot of reviews mention the view of the scrap yard. True enough the views don't make you want to sit and soak it all up but how many airport hotels do. Also as we were driving in we passed the crowne plaza, holiday inn, staly bridge suites and lots of others and none were appreciably better located.

We also read a few reviews which mentioned internal noise and this was the only let down and the reason i have dropped it a point. The walls all appear to be as thin as paper which for a modern new hotel shouldn't be the case. Last thing they should be scrimping on. We even heard a mobile phone ring next door. It doesn't matter how swish or what facilities it has, the point of a hotel is to get a good nights sleep. On a plus, airport noise was minimal.

We had a hire car and it was about 15min to the airport and 20min to downtown which is ridiculously expensive to park. They do have an airport shuttle but don't know if its free or if not how expensive.

This is an excellent hotel which understand the needs of every travelers. After many hours of travelling (and jet-lagged), I was greeted warmly at the airport by the hotel driver who shuttle me to the hotel. The receptionists at the hotel were exceptionally friendly, and promptly helped me to check into my spacious and comfy room. While there was nothing much to see within walking distance from the hotel, getting to downtown Calgary is easy and convenient via a 20-minute train. The recreational facilities (sauna, swimming pool, gym) are new and clean. In particular, I find the late check-out, high speed wifi and airport shuttle services particularly handy. I would highly recommend this hotel to transiting travelers who are seeking a comfortable stopover in Calgary.

We stayed at this hotel for the last two nights of the 2014 Calgary Stampede. The location is great, with easy access to the airport as well as to the park & ride to get downtown and to the Stampede. There is also a free airport shuttle and free wifi. The property is new, the price very reasonable, the facilities excellent, and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Both breakfast and dinner in on-site dining room were very good.

My girlfriend and I came to Calgary for the Stampede. Upon arrival we discovered that we forgot our fan. The hotel clerk provided us with his personal fan. Horray, we were able to sleep. Hotel clerks get an A+ in my book. They both went above and beyond to help us. Coming from the states were were not familiar with the area. They both helped us with driving directions to a nearby city and then back home. The hotel is about a 30 minute drive from the Stampede grounds, I do not recommend taking a taxi. Very comfy beds!
