This is a brand new restaurant, part of the very delicious Bonterra next door but more casual, with a classy flare to it. Just the right atmosphere for a business lunch or meeting up with friends. The owners of Bonterra and Posto also own and operate Cibo which offers the same quality pizzas but in a more casual-rustic atmosphere. Cibo is the place you think of on a Friday after work when you're ready to loosen your tie or kick back. Posto makes me think of the place I want to go on a Saturday night with special friends and is generally a more quiet restaurant than Cibo but not stuffy at all. It's modern and very pleasant to sit there and enjoy a great wine and pizza.
Typical to the brand, every detail has been carefully considered at Posto. It lives up to my high expectations.
When we wen for luncht, they just opened, just received their liquor license within the half hour and had bottles of spirits and wine they were still putting away. Despite this, there was not a hint of any chaos whatsoever in the service or food preparation that was evident in the restaurant or in the attitude of the servers. Everything was done right. The owners and managers definitely know what they're doing in the restaurant biz.
The pizza crust is the best in Calgary, in my view with just the right balance of chewy-crunchiness in the all-important crust. The crust is something they are very proud of as it took them about a year to develop just the perfect recipe. I love the inventiveness of the toppings and they are accommodating to changes in toppings.
It is worth it to eat here or any one of their restaurants.
