I booked a foresome for July 8th and when we arrived they tried to tell me that I had only booked for three people so one of our group would not be able to play. They refused to even consider that it might have been THEIR mistake at first, which it was. It was only after I really insisted it was their mistake that they reluctantly let us play. Not a great way to start a round...
The course had repair work everywhere, and the grounds crew was constantly either behind us waiting for us to move our carts or even in our way when we wanted to tee off.
Add to that a marshal that told us to hurry up on 11 because there was a gap when he didn't even know that the people in front of us had quit after 9 holes. (we played in 4 hours so we were not being slow). Then after we caught the group in front of us we had to wait for every shot.
The same marshal (Glenn) then parked his cart in the middle of the 18th fairway and chatted up a couple of maintenance girls causing us to have to wait 5 minutes for him to clear out so we could hit.
This used to be a very nice course but they no longer have their act together and its overpriced given the repair work that has been and still needs to be done. They need to train their employees to be a lot less arrogant than the pro shop and marshals are when dealing with paying customers.
All in all, we wont be back soon, as there are a lot of courses in Calgary that are better deals than McKenzie Meadows.
