“Elvis lives (sort of)”

Yes an Elvis, the fat one, peanut butter, bananas and bacon. Young Elvis doesn't have bacon???
Besides the funky names of almost everything that they sell, all the food is made with care and attention and really good ingredients. Small little place with several arcade tables, Donkey Kong Ms Pacman etc. Love to eat here, not a fast food place just a restaurant that serves incredible food.

“Skip peters and roll in here”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

This is a classic joint that puts a lot of effort in crafting good food....unlike the joint down the road that lives off the past.
If you want a truly tasty burger in a retro setting.....you will not be disappointed .
Try it out !

“Great burger joint - Oldschool Style (the good type)”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

Boogies vs Peters the eternal Calgary debate.

Im not really sure how it is even a debate anymore. One seems to have totally lost their way and is trading on ancient reputation while putting out total crap, mass market, frozen food the other still has all the style and quality it always has had. (See my review of Peter's and dont bother)

Boogies has the feel of a hipster leftover burger joint from the 50s-60s which, although Im sure is what they are aiming for, - they do very successfully with out it feeling un-genuine like some of the calculated decor you find in big chains purporting to be oldschool style.

The look and feel is great from kitschy decor to ancient arcade games, its been around forever and shows it but in a good way. The staff seems to genuinely like working there, service is great and the food rocks.

Great milkshakes in a wondrous assortment of flavours that can be mixed and matched. Enormous, tasty burgers, my fave is the Blazzin' Saddles. Onion rings and fries done right, hell even throw in a mini-corndog here and there for another oldschool taste. I keep eyeing up Doug's Don't Fear the Reaper burger but I can barely make it through my Blazzin' Saddles and fries without feeling overstuffed. These are big burgers folks.

Enjoy - these are great burgers.

“Two Strikes and You're Out”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

I'd love to be able to tell you how good or bad the food is, as I've gone out of my way twice to try this place (it's not exactly on the beaten path, particularly for me being from out of town), and they have been closed both times, despite being within business hours posted on their website and their door. This last time there was a sign out front that said they had run out of buns. Judging from the permanent nature of the sign (it wasn't a piece of cardboard with felt pen, it was a painted wooden tent sign), this is something that happens regularly. Here's a thought; BUY MORE BUNS. As it was, I went the 5 blocks over to Peter's, and got my burger fix, at a place that is open to midnight, 7 days a week, with a line up at the drive in windows, and lines 10 deep at all four walk-up windows. (They had buns.) Don't go to Boogies and count on them being open.
