It had been sometime since we had been to Osteria so decided we would go for Father's day. The main dining area was pretty empty, but apparently had some large groups in the back. Service was very slow and when I asked about it, response was because of the large groups. As far as I'm concerned you should be just as attentive to customers in your main dinning area. Our server was nice and very apologetic.
As to the food, did not leave a lasting impression...was just OK. I had the fettuccine alla gigi, again was OK ,seemed rather bland and lacking. My wife and daughter had a similar response to their meals.
We always guage how much we like a place by asking ourselves if we would come back again, sadly, we would not.

We had a Living Social coupon and used it with no problem! Fixed menu on our deal and everything was delicious. The wine pairings were good and took the guess work out of ordering. We noticed the prices are high but for a special occasion we would return at full pop unless we could get another deal--then we would return more often !

We were using a Groupon, which seemed to put our waiter off (I won't mention his name). Our dining partners arrived shortly after we did; as they sat down, the waiter was there right away asking if they wanted something to drink. They both asked for water with lemon, upon which the waiter took the wine list with him. Our dining partner had wanted some wine, so had to ask for the wine list to be returned...and for the lemon for the waters. After she ordered her wine, he had to come back to ask which wine she wanted. There were rolls on the table, which we all decided to eat. When our escargot appetizer came, it was a regular portion, but drowning in butter with no extra bread; this could just be our expectations, but have been served bread with escargot at other establishments. When our meals came, after a fair amount of time which was okay since we were visiting, we weren't offered pepper as we had seen other waiters do at other tables. Cheese wasn't offered with pasta, but that could be how they offer it, again , maybe just what we are used to. Overall, it was okay, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to go back as there are so many more places to visit in our city.

Food was very good. Appys average: calamari and escargot. Mains: Fresh seafood trio, lamb chops, lamb shank and great seafood linguine. Everything cooked perfectly. Pasta a la dente^.Desserts tarimisu OK, the creme caramel perfect custard not overly sweet. Enjoyed sitting in the newly renovated side and watching the outside traffic and view of street. Service was good. Had a very nice evening.
Will try to cook some of the dishes from the cookbook the owner put out 15 yrs ago.

Was out with a group of friends a couple weekends ago and it was suggested by one of them we try Osteria de Medici. I've recalled a few bad or mixed reviews in the past so wasn't thrilled with the plan but was out voted so went along.

There were only five of us and since the restaurant wasn't busy (warning sign if a restaurant isn't packed on a Saturday night) they were able to seat us right away. Even though they were half empty the hostess seemed to be bothered we didn't have a reservation. The surly attitude continued with the waiter who wasn't just dismissive he was down right rude.

We ordered 6 appetizers to share among us but that seemed to draw the ire of the waiter as it meant he had to clear some extra service ware from the table. The main course was very slow to come out and 2 of us had cold food. Tried to mention it to the waiter but he just ignored it.All the food had a funky chemically taste to it. Really quite nasty.

No, won't be back.
