“Curtains”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2013

i went here for a dinner last night, we took the feast menu which consisted of a soup, salad, pastry option with meat and either the couscous or the clay pot meal, we drank the soup, ate the salad with our fingers (with bread) which was not turkish bread or middle eastern, to help scoop up the food, as when the main course came, it was hot and the bread and fingers were not suitable for this, so we had forks, l feel it was average enough but expensive for what it was, l also had a drink at $7 and my total came to $76 for one person, l feel this is very expensive and nothing stunning for that price, would l go again, NO

“Delicious and fun for a group.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2013

Visited this restaurant in March 2013 with a small group of girls (4). You are seated in booths that are well cushioned with traditional Moroccan tables in the centre. Beaded cushions and colourful draped fabrics all around. You are treated to a traditional hand washing with a scented water at the table. Food was delicious. We ordered 3 appetizers and 3 tagines for the 4 of us and that was lots of food! The lamb tagine was delicious, flavourful and tender. We shared 2 desserts which was perfect for he 4 of us as the rest of the meal including a wonderful bread similar to a sourdough was very filling. My only complaint was the service was a bit slow but we weren't in any rush. If you were having to go to a function at a certain time, you may need to rethink this as your choice. As for the complaint that there wasn't a "Moroccan" in sight....really...you know the restaurant is in Calgary right?

“Cozy and Romantic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2013

My husband and I heard of this place from a friend and decided to try it on a Wednesday night. You would never know this place was here other than word of mouth. We went in at 6:30 and there was only a few other people there. We were taken to a private booth, very quiet and cozy, with very authentic colourful fabrics/pillows/lighting. Very quiet and you can't see anyone else from your booth. We were encouraged to sit and lounge back in the low booth benches as the waitress pushed the table closer to us. The waitress was very knowledgable about the menu, brought us our beverages quickly as well as our meal. Food was excellent, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. It is quite expensive ($25-35) entree, but well worth it. We will definately be returning. I would recommend this to couples only.

“Soooo disappointing”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2013

We were told so many good things about the Sultan Tent that we could not wait to go there. We went with another couple that had been there before. We ordered appetizers and the Couscous Royale for four. The couscous was OK and the vegetables nothing special. However, the meats and shrimps were overcooked, dry and had lost they flavor.... What flavor? like chewing on leather. This restaurant is going downhill fast.
The mint tea was excellent and we enjoyed being together with our friends otherwise, it would have been an evening to forget.

“Not one Moroccan in sight!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2012

We went for my B'day. We were greeted by a very nice mature Canadian lady. All the staff, that we could see, were Canadian. Not a Moroccan in sight. The lady needed to check our phone number and date of booking as they had a reservation but there was one letter of the surname that was different; I would not mins this but the restaurant was empty and we were made stand whilst she double checked this. A bit unnecessary!
The starters were very tasty. The mains were very tasty casseroles for all the world! There was nothing wrong with the food except it was not prepared in the tajine, just served in one.
The meal was very expensive.
I do not think we would return, due to price alone!
