Very good service, excellent ambiance, affordable wine list, nice appetizers. Pizza, though, which should be the main attraction, not so good. It was my impression that they do not master the wood fire oven technique. Kind of burnt and undercooked at the same time.... Flavor was there though. It didn't impress me much.

We went there for dinner after a movie on a Tuesday night. The atmosphere was pleasantly quiet. We ordered the mussels appetizer and a quattro staggione pizza to share. Both were exceptionally good assuming one likes thin crust on a pizza, which we do. The wine list is entirely Italian (as it should be in an Italian restaurant) and the waiter was able to give good advice on what wines we should try.

I've eaten at Pulcinella several times and keep going back. My latest visit reminded me why I keep going back. Thin crust pizza made like they make it in Italy. Great and personal service. Just go in and order a bunch of different pizzas for the table to share. After you have filled up on these fresh pizzas, hot from the wood burning oven (Just like Italy!) then order and enjoy an affogato, which is a wonderful espresso poured over vanilla gelato. Mmmmmm! Buono!!

This location is trendy and hip; decor is minimal and stylish. It is in the heart of the Kensington area - a spot chock full of great restaurants, walking trails, river front views, and indie theatre and terrific shopping.
We were seated at a spacious table and the service was exemplary. Our server was gracious, efficient, not intrusive and still available. She recommended a white wine that just hit the spot!! Our order of rapini pizza and tortellini was available without a long wait, and water was also served prior. Both dishes were FANTASTIC - the pizza is thin crusted and appetizing, and the tortellini was THE best ever!!!! Prosciutto and a delicate mix of oil and herbs made this tortellini the best Italian meal I have ever had. It was wonderful.
The server made this occasion - she was superb. Be sure to make reservations!!
