Normally I wouldn't stay at a hotel in my own city but this was for a special occasion. We booked a jacuzzi suite for 1 night. The room didn't have a cheesy theme like some of their other suites but rather was fairly basic in decor. The room was very clean, spacious and well appointed. I was fairly surprised considering this hotel is inside the mall.

Our main reason for booking there was the fact that the hotel is connected to the mall with easy access to the water park. We had always wanted to go to the water park but felt dragging our bathing suits and half way across town a bit of a pain. We took the opportunity for a package at the hotel for $75 which includes either the water park or Galxyland, with mini golf, breakfast and access to the underwater cave near the Sea Lions.

The package is a good deal considering the water park is $30 by itself. To our surprise the lockers at the water park are $7 so it was really nice having changed at the hotel. The breakfast the next day was surprisingly good. The buffet had it not been included with the package would have been $15 which was comparable to other hotel's buffet twice that price.

The only reason I'm giving this hotel an average rating is due to its overpriced nature. Our suite was about $400 for the night and standards rooms were about $200. Overall this hotel is charging way too much but if you can afford it and want to be in the mall then its worth it. For us it was convenient and enjoyable.

Stayed here one night on the September long weekend after always hearing the hype about this hotel and to treat the kids. The front entrance from the parking lot was very dissappointing, definately not one would expect arriving at a hotel of this price point and the amount of smokers outside the front door including hotel staff was nausiating.

The lobby staff were expeditious and pleasant. We arrived early to pick up our galaxyland passes and was told our room was guaranteed by 4 pm and was surprised to get a call at 10:30 saying it was ready. When we went back and got our keys it was nice to find the Bellman had already placed our jackets in the room that we had checked earlier.

We opted for the Polynesion theme room. The room was adequate but had a worn and somewhat dated feel, definately not what you would expect for $300.00 + per night. Although I suppose some of what you are paying for is the "theme" which the kids liked especially the jacuzzi tub with waterfall. The bed was comfortable and the view was great. Also the conveniance factor having the mall at your doorstep is definately a plus.

The bathroom was dissappointing with crusty hard water deposits all around the shower, dirty grout in the tiles and low quality towels. It felt like you were in a $50.00 /night hotel when in the bathroom.

Now that I have "been there done that" most likely would not go back and opt to stay at one of the high end chain hotels down the road for half the cost, better quality, and oh yeah: free WiFi! C'mon guys, it's 2012, charging almost $10 per day for WiFi is not cool!

Just checked in with the rudest front desk agent named Laureen Manalaysay. Does not care at all if you drove 13 hours from Vancouver to visit and when you ask questions, she says no to everything. Walked out of the elevator to find ripped pieces of paper everywhere, called housekeeping and front desk for 10 mins to ask for shower caps and no one answers the phone. Went to lobby and was told "we have no housekeeping, the doors are locked, no shower caps" then they proceed to argue with you in a rude tone since we've now checked in to a hotel for $338 a night. Horrible horrible service, will never return. To top it off, they mislead you and charge you for wifi without telling you it's for 1 device ONLY!

we have stayed at fantasyland hotel twice. both different experiences.
1st experience - my husband brought me here as a romantic getaway. we stayed in the polynesian room. it was very nice. we loved the huge jacuzzi. some things, like the furniture, were a bit dated and could use some refreshing. i feel that $300/night is very steep for what it is. we happened to get a fire alarm at 7:30 am and announcements to stay in our room. we weren't concerned until water came through the ceiling in the shower. we decided to pack up and leave. check out was a zoo (understandable). thankfully, we were able to get our room 1/2 off due to the circumstances. a waterline had busted 2 floors above us and caused lots of damage.
2nd experience - my bosses reserved us rooms here to stay after our christmas party. we were put into a regular suite. it was new and modern (obviously renovated compared to the theme rooms). but, we had a terrible night's sleep! we were directly above the bar with contant loud thumping music. we called to complain but the front desk (instead of offering us another room) told us simply that it would end at 1 am!
i feel that the front desk area and hallways are getting old/rundown and need upgrading.

Not sure we’ll stay again. Asked for an early checkin. Check is guaranteed by 4. At 3:30 went back to see if room was ready to find out they called our Saskatchewan number at home to let us know to come to check in (not our cell that they asked for). Changed our room as per our request to the Front Desk manager. Annoyed that only received 1 gadget for free for internet. additional phone would have been $8.95/day. Seemed a bit of a rip off. It was convenient for hubby to have a snooze while I shopped.
Nice to get park passes for $20.50/person

Room Tip: Don’t bother for theme room (Polynesian) we originally wanted a them room and looked at it to find they were quite dated as one person noted on this website before. Kids thought a king with bunk beds and jacuzzi was prettier and was less money.
