“Good service, hotel can use some renovations”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

I was a little disappointed with this hotel. While location is central, the rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade. The tiles were coming off the wall, the bathtub was peeling, it gave the room a creepy feel to it. If you are looking for something with a nice view then this is not the place, the most you will get is the inside of a shopping center. The breakfast was good, but I found it a little overpriced.
Entry to the hotel can be a little confusing as well, seems like its where all the deliveries get made.
On the bright side service was great, the lobby was nice and the fitness center was decent. I would not stay here again until some renovations are done.

I'll begin at the moment I arrived.... I am unfamiliar with Edmonton so I used GPS to get to the hotel entrance. The turnaround was jammed full of food delivery trucks, no signage of where to park and no bellman to great or direct me if where to park my car. I ended up in a pay lot which as it turned out was not the delta lot. I checked Into my hotel, to my complete surprise my rooms window looked directly into the centre of an indoor shopping mall. I had a beautiful view of the good court! The rooms were baren, outdated and smelled musty. The bath tub was filthy, the tv was an old 1980s special.... Haven't seen one of those in a while. Overall very dissapiinted by the whole experience. I expected much more from a delta. I ended up cutting my three day stay short, checked into the westin across the street!

It is a clean but a bit dated hotel. I like this hotel because of its location. The hotel has the access to the mall and it is way nicer to walk in the mall rather than outside on the snow. The service is good but breakfast sucks. Suggest to eat at Fionn MacCool (an Irish pub right cross the hotel) and they know how to cook. :)

Got to the hotel and they upgraded us to a suite which was enormous. Unit was clean. Service was good. Opens right out onto mall which was nice.

On the other hand the hotel shows wear. Furniture was older and kind of worn out. Bed was very hard. Carpet had wear areas. TV in bedroom was out of the 80's. Parking was kind of weird and was outdoors on the coldest night of the year. Room was cool despite our best efforts to manipulate the thermostat.

We got a special rate (99 bucks) which overall was steal for what we got. Given the aged feel though I wouldnt want to pay too much more.

I would stay there again if I could get the same deal.

The staff couldn't be better. They are very courteous and welcoming from the moment you walk in the door. You feel that you are arriving at a friend's place. The front desk even had a battery charger available for those unfortunate people whose vehicle wouldn't start. Perhaps we are less demanding than some of the other reviewers. We found it clean and while not totally up to date it was a pleasant atmosphere. It has a great location in central downtown and the attached shopping mall & pedway system was great for our needs. Using the pedway you can get to the Citadel theatre and Winspear Music Hall. No need to wear a coat in frigid weather. The pedway system also connects to the Light Rail Transit system, easy to get to hockey games! We would definitely stay here again.

The 80's are calling and they want their hotel back! Great location downtown and close to some good places to eat and walk. Unfortunately the hotel is badly in need of a refit. Carpets are worn, dents and scratches in doors, walls and wall paper. The wall paper in the bathroom was a checkerboard of patches where there had obviously been issues in the past. The bathtub was chipped and was one of those beautiful one piece Jacuzzi tubs in an orange/brown sort of colour. All the fittings in the room were dated with the exception of the grey powerbar under the beaten up desk. Not yet the media friendly sort of place that Delta says they are moving toward for visitors.
I had breakfast one morning and the bare springs in the banquet gave me an unpleasant wake-up. Stay away until there is a major update to this hotel. Not worth $230 per night.

This was a last minute booking through Orbitz. Hotel centrally located in downtown. Location OK for shopping, but the rooms are old, musty and the tub was severely damaged, we could take a shower but my wife could NOT take a bath. Rugs worn out. The fridge did not cool anything at all. Breakfast was suppose to be included, what they did not say was that it was for the cold buffet only. Hot breakfast was extra. The Cocoa`s restaurant service was good even though we were there only for breakfast. Parking expensive, no help for parking. Too many unsavory people outside which makes you feel very uneasy, even my wife was afraid to go outside, seems to be lots of liquor and drug problems. We were so disappointed we checked out a day early to go somewhere else.
