“What a nightmare...”
Reviewed 1 May 2008

We stayed at the Campus Tower Suite Hotel for 2 nights. When we got there, great -- the front desk was very friendly, and we headed up to our room, which sadly was on the SMOKING floor, which although disturbing, our room wasnt disgusting so we decided to overlook it and fall into bed as we were exhausted from traveling.

It went rapidly downhill from there.

We woke up with terrible backaches from the poor quality bed, and headed downstairs to the lobby to go to the car -- just outside the door in the parkade... but oh wait! Now the hotel is suddenly under renovations and the entire convenient and accessible entrance is closed until further notice.

BE AWARE -- you must circle the block basically to get to the parkade now from the hotel. Quite a pain with luggage in tow, etc.

We make it to our car to jot out for a bite, and our car's been broken into. The front desk staff unhelpful, the security guy actually laughed -- and the police wouldn't respond to the hotel.

Back to the room. The sofa bed was frighteningly uncomfortable, though, if you steal the mattress from there and put it on the main bed, the main bed becomes tolerable.

The front desk staff was exceptionally helpful the day we left as we had an appointment at the hospital and needed secure place to leave our things.

Oh - and just to add insult to injury we actually had a parking ticket while parked in the proper spot though the front staff did sort that out after I schlepped the whole way around the block (again).... and then again to get back to the car.

I'd never stay here again. And until the renovations are over, neither should anyone else.

I stayed at Campus Tower for 2 nights and found the staff and management extremely polite and helpful. The rooms are large and very clean offering the traveler the ability to reduce costs by having full kitchens. The hotel is centrally located to night life, shopping and attractions. Will definitely stay again.

My son had a sporting event, so the location was going to be great for us, however, it was not a very nice place to stay at all. We booked the room, stating 4 guests, a suite, with 2 twin beds, and a pull out sofa couch. When we pulled out the sofa, it was horrible. It could not be slept on. We called to front desk, and was told, oh, they're not for sleeping on! We can send you a cot. Which they did, but was almost as bad. They rented the room for 4 people when they knew the sofa bed was unuseable?! The rest of the suite was fairly shabby, and run down. I wrote a formal complaint to the company and they have not responded. I would most definately NOT RECOMMEND staying here.
