We had eaten here a while ago and really liked it. Went back recently with great expectations and were very disappointed. At our table of 4, two of us had the "game hen". Both found the dish to be incredibly salty, to the point of almost being inedible. One of us had the lamb, and liked it. The other had gazpacho, which was fine, but the asparagus which came with it was coated with a very salty seasoning. The coquille-saint-jacques came with barely a drizzle of cheese sauce. We had 2 Baba Au rhums for desert. Both were dry, not at all moist with the taste of rum; we did not finish them. The atmosphere was fine and the waiter quite congenial and understanding of our concerns. We are sorry it was not better as we had high hopes. Will never return.

Unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. The food was tasty but the atmosphere was horrible. It felt very institutional and probably the least romantic spot to dine as a couple on the planet. Service was also quite good. I think if they had a better location in a quaint spot they would be much more popular and successful.

Where to start? Finding the restaurant was a challenge. Marked only by a well hidden sandwich board, leading to a stairwell to the basement level. A small amount of external light does find its way into the restaurant due to a below street level patio outside the restaurant, but totally lacking in any decorative or aesthetic touches. The interior of the restaurant, other than being fairly dark, is lacking in ambience. On a warm and cheerful weekend evening, the restaurant was only about 1/3 full, which (until we completed our meal) was surprising. The server may have been doing a good deed as a loyal neighbour or brother in law to someone in the restaurant, but was uninformed regarding the menu and unable to respond to the simplest of questions about how items were prepared, gave us erroneous information regarding what was available and did such a bad job of describing the deserts that even a determined sweet-tooth would have been turned off. The appetizer was tasteless and the main course average at best. Wine selection poor. Prices were aggressive. I have never felt inclined to write a review before but this was such poor value, I felt it was important for management to be aware of the poor performance and for diners to be warned that if tonight was any indication, they will not get good value.

This is one of my new favourites. Attentive staff. Decent and not expensive wine by the glass, thoughtful food preparation and presentation. Nice selection of flavours. Just delightful.

We do not usually go to the higher priced restaurants, however we had a gift certicate and were very pleased with the food and service. The place is smaller than what it seems on the website. There is an interesting list of appetizers. I suggest one shared by two people. The entree portions were larger than expected for this type of restaurant. The service by the two girls was great. Nice touch is the small band entertaining of Friday nights. Minimum $100 for two people.
