“Good Hotel”
Reviewed 7 October 2011

This is a good hotel downtown. Having lived in downtown Edmonton, the location of the hotel is pretty much the heart of the downtown. As I didn't stay here long I didn't get a chance to explore the hotel. There is free internet, no pool and you will be paying 20 bucks a day for parking so add this to your bill. If you are coming to go to the mall, you would be better off finding a hotel in the West end of the city. The hotel will be about a 40min trip from the Intl airport. There are a lot of nice restraurants in the area. The rooms are large and clean. Nothing special here by any means but nothing wrong.

Room Tip: Actually they gave me a wheel chair accessible room for some reason and it was pretty large.

Was in Edmonton for work, and decided to stay downtown instead of out at the University like I usually do. Unfortunately didn't get into town early enough to check out downtown, but the hotel was fine. Room was clean, free internet, big flat screen TVs, etc. Had a nice view of the river, although the L-shaped building means that folks from other rooms might be able to peek in if you have the drapes wide open. I arrived too late for room service (11pm), but they did have an assortment of quick snacks and drinks you could buy from the front desk (very helpful for a late arrival like me). Quick $15 cab ride to the University, and if i wasn't running late i could have jumped the train. Price was really good, pretty sure cheaper than what I paid to stay at the Campus Towers hotel on last year's trip.

I attended the 90th birthday of a close family friend. I stayed at the hotel for one evening. I usually try to stay at Mariott Hotels since I am a Marriott Rewards loyalty customer. I have stayed at the hotel on previous stays. The location is what makes the hotel attractive since it in the central downtown district. As with other Marriott hotels, the hotel had a business centre which makes it very convenient to search for information and addresses as well as checking in on air flights. I was disappointed with the reception desk service staff who were not that friendly, I am an Elite Marriott member and I usually receive a very excellent welcome. Other than this small annoyance, I enjoyed my stay because of the location and great value.

In the downtown area of Edmonton and with parking at a premium price ($20/day valet). The restaurant staff accommodated us with a late night request but it ended up being a mediocre plate of nachos with a few shreds of cheese. Everything else was as it should be.

The hotel is well located right in the center of Edmonton Downtown. This has its price, as parking is not free (valet and public available). Walking distance to public transport as well as all what Jasper Street has to offer.

The reception desk service was courteous, not the same for the restaurant staff.

The room was spacious with a great view to the river and park. Slept surprisingly well, the bed was very comfortable.

The fitness center was well equipped and as per the usual standards.

A repeat for sure.

The room was spacious and clean, very nice bathroom, comfortable beds, fabulous river valley view.
The staff were avoidant at best, and our server in the restaurant (when he appeared) smelled of body odor. Interestingly, we had the same server at breakfast...bodor odor still present.
We were unable to pay our bar bill due to lack of staff presence..in fact, a glass of water that I twice asked for did not ever show up.
I did complain to management in an email that was never acknowledged. After complaining to Marriott, I finallly received an email from the hotel manager. The email was more about excuses than apology, although we were offered a free night as compensation - which we will not be snapping up in any kind of hurry

This Courtyard Inn is right beside the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald, the iconic CP Hotel and overlooks the North Saskatchewan River and entire river valley. If you want to be downtown Edmonton this is an excellent choice. The room we had was spacious and the beds comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. The one drawback, as with many city centre hotels, is parking is fairly expensive ($22/night) but it is come and go as you want valet parking and we rarely had to wait more than 5 minutes for our car. However, in view of the relative value of the hotel the parking was fine. This hotel has probably one of the nicest outdoor patios in town. It overlooks the river valley and of course is likely limited to the short summer time of Edmonton. Access to Edmonton's extensive bike and walking trails is within a few minute walk and you can rent bikes just below the hotel and likely pedal for 100 km if you so choose amongst one of the best urban bikeways in North America. Will stay here again.
