Very good boutique hotel in the middle of the trendiest park of Edmonton. Was impressed with all the complimentary hotel offerings, including VIP parking, wine and cheese, wifi, and breakfast. Walking distance to some great shops, restaurants, and bars.

I was told that Whyte noise is intense, but having a room facing the street with fairly thin windows, it was not the most pleasant sleep. There was a 3am accordion and singing session on the street that was too early for a legitimate wake up call. Ensure you get a room on the 'quiet' side.

+ Offerings as outline above.
+ Excellent location.

- Not the cleanest room, this could use some more attention. Plenty of hairs and crusties around the bed.

Room Tip: Don't get a room facing Whyte Ave, or be prepared for plenty of night noise.

My guy and I spent two nights at the Meterra on the 8th floor. Cute and quaint, the room was small, but really fit well together. The tv was on top of the fireplace and the bar racing the two chairs by the window. It was super hot on Wednesday and our air conditioning didn't work well. My boyfriend called about this and we were given a fan, which did help. The king bed was amazing! We slept very well. We really enjoyed the wine tasting and variety of cheeses. LOVED sitting out on the patio sipping our Vino's. We were super impressed with the staff for this and the morning breakfasts. Again, out in the patio sipping our cafe and eating our yummy breakfast. Yes, I concur it may be a little pricey, but when you take into account the location (really perfect), the extras added in I felt it was a good deal. Our room was not facing the street and we had no issues with noise. I'd have to say we had an incredibly romantic mid week getaway:).

Room Tip: 8th floor away from the Main Street.

Went here as an early getaway for my wife's birthday - the staff were very nice on checking in but parking is not great - yes they do bring your car to you but when we came back late after seeing a movie we had to park down the street from the hotel risking a parking ticket and I was not happy about that . The room was okay but for the rates they charge I would expect more, yes they do provide earplugs but the noise level from the street was so bad we could not sleep with the windows open . All in all I was very disappointed in this hotel and the only reason I'm giving it three stars is because of location .there are nicer hotels in Edmonton that charge less.

My wife and kids and I stayed at this most excellent boutique hotel in early July 2014. I was very impressed across the board: with the accommodations, the helpful staff, the location and even the morning breakfast offerings. The hotel is in the middle of Strathcona and, thus, walking distance to a variety of fun restaurants and venues. It was a great base of operations to see Edmonton.

enjoyable stay at the Metterra on Whyte Avenue. Appreciated the ear plugs provided in room and good breakfast with self serve cappuccino machine and happy hour with snacks. Air conditioning not working well on second night, but overall, a pleasant experience in comfortable hotel. The king size bed, free wifi and shower with several heads were great. There is valet parking available, though we did not choose to use this, using the outdoor parking lot about a block away. A variety of newspapers were available in the lobby. Friendly staff; it was a bustling place with a wedding being celebrated there this weekend. We would return to this hotel.

Room Tip: ask about location of room for quietness
