Have frequented Pico Lino's several times and have never been dissapointed!! The Veal Marsala is to die for and the nightly specials are usually worth the $$$.

“Magic Formula”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2010

Maybe it's not the "Best" Italian food in the city, and maybe it's not the ritziest ambiance, but obviously there's something about Picco Lino's that keeps the place so popular.
If you don't have a reservation it's doubtful you'll get a seat especially towards the weekends.
I think it's precisely what others have mentioned
Consistency - in food and service regardless of time of day
Good Value - reasonably priced tasty food
Super friendly Atmosphere - you feel almost at home
In my opinion the fact that Lino greets and THANKS his customers is exactly the magic formula (and so simple) that many small restauranteurs haven't discovered. He conveys in this simple gesture his appreciation and respect for his patrons. Others could learn from this (see my other review)
I have to mention the Osso Bucco (hope it's still on the menu) Although I don't usually have an appetite big enough - it's fantastic and when you find it on a menu elsewhere it's considerably more expensive. Usually my male friends generously let me taste it.
I use it for business lunches when I can and it's always well received - I often hear that people go back for dinners and are glad to have discovered it.

“Over rated”

There is better Italian food in the city for sure. Staff was nice but the food was bland and overcooked.

Try Il Forno for better Italian food.

Great rustic Italian, always check the specials board. Arrabiata there is always a good choice. I've enjoyed many of their veal plates.
