“Pretty Lake to stop at for a picnic or for an easy walk.”

This is the second time we have stopped here when travelling through Jasper Park. This time it was on Labor Day weekend. There is parking on the east side of the road, but just a pull off and not a lot of room for big vehicles. We were pulling a trailer and were lucky to have one whole side to access, but had there been vehicles parked on both sides, we would not have been able to stop (unless you park on the highway). There are the usual out houses at the parking lot - use at your own risk!! There is a 5 minute walk down an easy trail to the lake and then you can walk to the end of the lake. It is very picturesque and the water is the most amazing color of the glacier water, blue / green. The kids liked climbing on the variety of rock formations in the area. There are steep rock cliffs on the south side of the lake, so caution must be taken. You can easily access the lake from the north side. If you are there at lunch time, take a picnic, find a comfortable rock and enjoy the scenery!

We went there after hearing from ads and peoples opinions about what a great spot this is . Yah it's a nice spot but not from the top when you loose your footing and plunge to your death. I you are a thrill seeker and this is a must do PLEASE be careful !!!!!!!! This is a death trap in disguise !!

Weve been coming to Jasper for many years, for as long as I can remember. It was only about 4 years ago that we found this amazing lake! It makes for some great pictures! Not only that, it's a great place to go for a swim, especially if you enjoy cliff jumping. There are all different levels of rocks to jump off, it's a chilly experience but it gets the adrenaline pumping!
We were there last weekend, and went on a Saturday, that wasn't the best decision.. it was completely packed! There were tons of locals, listening to loud music, drinking beer, partying...it's a fairly big place though so we just went up the trail a ways.
I would highly recommend Horseshoe Lake though, it's beautiful and a great way to kill a few hours!

Horseshoe lake is a great experience. Its fun for the family or for your group of friends. I try to make it out atleast twice a year and plan road trips that pass by the lake. Diving is fun and the sight isnt bad either. Definately a great experience.
