“Nice Cabins in the Mountains”
Reviewed 6 August 2013

We have stayed at Jasper House Bungalows many many times over the past 9 years. In the past we have stayed in their Executive Suite, nice but jacuzzi tub is VERY small, and we wouldn't use that one again. We usually choose a Suite for Two... and we love them. We have used this type many times, and we ask for one by the river, by the gazebo. The view is beautiful and sometimes you see the Elk walk by, or deer. They have a kitchen so you can cook, and heater if you are cold. We haven't notice any noise from other people in the other cabins (4 per unit). This time we decided last minute to travel to Jasper and were fortunate enough to get in on a cancelation, being the long weekend. We have 3 to our party this time, and so we got the Cabin for 4. Nice and roomy. We liked it BUT we could hear alot of noise from the people in the attached cabin. I gather family cabins would just be like that. One thing we did notice this time was that the cleaning staff did not do a good job. One bed they didn't even make. Not sure what that was about. But all in all, we will definitely be back but to a Unit for 2 again.

Room Tip: Ask for cabin by the river.

Quite a good location, just a few miles south of Jasper on the Athabasca River.

The bungalows themselves are quite basic, a bit small and a bit old. Everything that we used was clean and worked.

As a family, we were pleased that a double bed and two singles was an option, which it isn't in some places. Good to see that they have a strict noise policy from 11.00pm.

We ate in the restaurant for dinner (which was good) and for breakfast (which wasn't).

The Jasper area seems to be quite expensive relative to elsewhere. We were on a tour, so this seemed quite poor value relative to other places but perhaps was reasonable value for places in the National Park.

Rustic, with no air conditioning or phone . Quite primitive by today's standards. The food was good. We even had pizza one night. Staff quite friendly. Animals were free & wandering in the compound. We had routine breakfasts twice & enjoyed it.

We spend 4 nights (six days) here. We had a cabin on the river and it was great. It had a kitchenette, and living/dining room and a bedroom. Everything was clean and worked. In addition there were outdoor chairs and a picnic table for each cabin. What more could you ask for? We went into town and bought supplies. Our kitchen had an oven. Meals are very expensive in the "park" and being able to cook saved us a lot. It is very conveniently located and not quite in town so it didn't feel crowded or too touristy. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a river cabin. They get a lot of bus tour traffic.

We had a riverside cabin (#18). View was great. Cabin had everything we needed, was clean and well maintained. Staff were relaxed, friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and bfast and were pleasantly surprised. We even ordered take out pizza from there the second night.
Great location, great place for kids, it is good value in an expensive town.

We absolutely thought this place was wonderful! We were greeted with lemonade and the sweetest Golden Retriever you would ever hope to meet. The rooms were clean, spacious, and mine was right on the river. Walking trails were very nice, with red benches dotted sporadically along the trail. Views were gorgeous. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!! The restaurant was also very, very good. I had the shrimp fettucine....great!

Very nice place to stay, visited in early June. Stayed in a one bedroom chalet, only drawback was the size of the kitchen area (just 2 hobs, no oven) but we managed fine. Elk on site as well! You can walk down to the river very easily. Would recommend staying here.
