Description: The Downstream was recreated in 2008 by local owner Sotirios Korogonas as a concept for a modern restaurant & lounge that retains Jasper's mountain town spirit and casual feel. Chef David Gomez masterfully delivers Jasper's best homemade meals using only the freshest ingredients. His attention to detail and passion for excellence is defined by the superior reputation his menu and our staff have earned amongst our loyal customers. Shawn Routledge and our service team ARE dedicated to ensuring a superior experience by providing our customers with a truly comfortable atmosphere in the most personal public room in Jasper. Together we have created a menu that is the best dollar for dollar value in the park.

This place is simply awesome. If your young, just say your a resident and forgot your locals card. Its the best food in Jasper and you can tale kids in during the day.

Food was very fresh tasting, and the prices were reasonable for the mountain parks. (high) There was attention to detail on the plating, and vegetarian options were available.

Extensive interesting menu with lots and lots of GF options which is a refreshing change. Great food and service. Nice casual atmosphere.

For an appetizer, we wanted the mussels but instead of the sauces that were offered, we requested something off-menu and the chef agreed and made it for us. The Bison short-ribs were fall off the bone only to melt in your mouth. Service was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. While I said 'no' this wasn't the best meal that I ever had, it was definitely good enough that I will go back the next time that we are in town.

So stopped in for some apps and drinks on a Friday night. Quite busy but also a popular local hangout. Food was ok, Draft beer selection was poor...but a great assortment of bottles and Caesars.

The big issue is it is extremely loud.
