Situated right outside of town and just off the Icefield parkway this is a perfect spot to set up your base for a wonderful vacation. Couple that with elk sleeping alongside your camper and squirrels, chipmunks and other wildlife all around you there is not much more you could need. Note that if you go with a sewerage hookup you are unlikely to get a fire pit as well so consider water and electricity only in exchange for a fire which is the heart of camping.

We booked the campsite via the online registration system in April. Super convenient. We got the sites we wanted. Firewood is included with the purchase of a fire permit. It's a little steep for a fire at $9 pet day, but the cost of the site is quite reasonable so it all balances out. The site was cleaned and raked prior to our arrival. Our site backs onto a small children's play area that we can see from the site. It's all good in Jasper.

We stay here lots. Big, treed sites (we stay in full service sites, not interested in roughing it : ). It has always been very quiet, lots of wild life, lots to do in Jasper and in the park. The only negative is park staff doesn't enforce the Bear Smart rules strictly (unattended BBQs, coolers, food items in campsites are common when you walk around). Unfortunately, it's the wildlife that is victim to this.

Stayed here for two nights in our RV a couple of weeks ago. The site is pretty basic compared to other privately owned campgrounds we visited, but it is clean, quiet and well maintained with toilets and showers that, despite being a good ten minutes away from where we were camped, are also clean and tidy. Elks frequently wander through the site which is spectacular to see. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I can't speak for the high season, but we had a great time in the early shoulder season (early June). It wasn't too crowded and we lucked out with a more secluded site. Good location near the town of Jasper (go to the Bear's Paw for breakfast!) and great hiking.

Room Tip: 11L is a bit more treed-in and private than many campsites.
