“Great place to stay for peace and quiet!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

This was a great place to stay. we will definitely return for another vacation. The cabin style rooms are cozy, we had one with a fireplace over looking Lac Beauvert. Hiking, biking and canoeing can all be done right from the resort. We did it all...... Lot's of things for kids to as well.

Room Tip: Pick a room overlooking the lake.

Expect to pay thru the nose for beauty. The area is untouchable with repect to the natural beauty surrounding you. The hotel itself needs upgrades to keep up with the price. However the service was great, the amenities fabulous - lots of outside activiies to enjoy including golf

Free parking and wifi. Activities are noted in the hotel for each day. For example, there is a free smore cookout every night by the lake. They have different things to do every day and these are listed on the board.

This hotel has bike rentals, canoe and kayak rentals, tennis courts, pool, spa, coffee shop, three restaurants, walking trails, horses. It is so relaxing here that you actually need not leave.

I would not stay at a hotel in town as this hotel is so relaxing and the area is absolutely breathtaking. Nothing worse than being stuck in a hotel room when the beauty is outside and this hotel allows you to enjoy the outdoors. You can sit by the lake or lawn and enjoy the view. It is a five minute drive to the town of Jasper if you want to go to different restaurants. The hotel restaurants are more expensive and the food is okay. We decided to go into town a lot to eat as we had kids and they were not eating the hotel food.

There are lakes within 10 to 30 minute drive from the hotel. Dogs are allowed at this hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get a single level room (no one above) by the lake. We were not by the lake, but the room wa...

JPL used to be amazing - not anymore. In the last 5 yrs this hotel has gone way down hill. Dirty and very old looking. Zero atmosphere and for the price would expect more. Internet could be free like most places.

Dear Jacqueline P,
Thank you for taking the time to submit a TripAdvisor review of our property. We are very concerned to read your review and hear of your disappointment in a few areas. Outstanding service and attention to detail are the hallmarks of any Fairmont stay, and we regret that your experience was not on par with that standard. As I was driving into grounds, I advised my travel companions that I was skeptical based on reading reviews. We were here as part of Rocky Mountaineer Gold Leaf Package. Keep in mind that we had come from the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver which might be the finest hotel that I have ever stayed in. Well you have seen the photos on this site of rotting wood on windows and doors, dramatically pealed paint on windows and doors, etc. and you think how could Fairmont put their name on this place? Then I walk in the room and observe the coffee table that might be 20 years old and is rotting and swollen from moisture and you shake your head. Then it is 85 degrees Fahrenheit outside and I reach for the AC and find out that it does not have AC. Then we go for dinner in town and come back and there is no where to park. It reminds you of a summer camp but at luxury hotel prices. Again I am astonished that Fairmont puts their name on this place. From reading earlier reviews it appears that it is franchised as there are comments about them attempting to get the owners to do upgrades. This place hurts their brand.

Room Tip: just make sure you know what to expect. This is not the Fairmont that you are used to.

Dear tmthompsonsc,
Thank you for your feedback. Please accept our sincere apologies in regards to your room accommodation. We can certainly understand the frustration this must have caused during your stay. While there is never an excuse for a lapse in maintenance and upkeep, we can appreciate that some areas of the hotel are older than others and would benefit from updated décor. As you touch on, we are in the process of addressing this through renovations and we hope for an opportunity to welcome you back to an updated room in the future. Sincerely, The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

If you stay here, the views were amazing, the lake were beautiful, the outdoors were amazing, the hotel is super big, the horse were nice, the lobby was big but the rooms....OMG, the rooms were actually mini houses, the rooms were supper small, there's barley any room for more than 6 people. There is no such things as hallways, so if it rains, you have to walk outside to get to your rooms. The staffs were not 24 hours available, most of them left at 6pm, so after 6 pm, you have to do most of the stuff on your own like for example, fix your toilet.

Dear Andy Y,
Thank you for writing a review of your recent stay with us. We are delighted you were able to enjoy the lake, the beautiful outdoors, our riding stables and the main lodge. We are however, disappointed you found the rooms too small. The room you booked was our standard Fairmont room. Ranging from 275 sq. feet, our Fairmont rooms are ideal for individuals or couples. Kindly note we do offer deluxe rooms, suites and signature cabins for larger parties. Please accept our apologies that you were not made aware during your stay we offer 24 hour service. From maintenance staff to bellman to front desk and housekeeping staff, they are all available at any time to offer their assistance. We can certainly understand the frustration this would cause during your stay with us. We are truly sorry that we did not meet your expectations and sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future. Sincerely, The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

Staying at Fairmont Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper for our anniversary tour. I'm lying in this crap room thinking at 700 bucks its the worst return on this amount of cash I have ever spent. On anything. My big shouldered suit in 1989 was better value. At least it made me feel cool for a year or two. My 16yo basement bedroom with Rachael Welsh poster and dirty underwear on the floor was nicer then this room. The "bonus" the front desk tried to sell me was that I was lucky to have an air conditioner the size of a VW beetle at the foot of our bed that roars like a Harley because there is no air conditioning in rest of the rooms. How lucky am I!
If this room was sold as a lakeside rustic room at a market price it would be totally fine. Don't get fooled like we did thinking it was anything special. Don't fall for their fancy shmancy hoity toity marketing. Its a pig with lipstick. 3 dressed up as a 6, correction 5...maybe. Ridiculous. I feel like I've been assaulted.
