A nice place and good for the price. Maybe not 5 Star, but good for the $$$.
Car park is a little inconvenient to bring baggage over gravel &upstairs.
Breakfast could be included like many other places.Did not have any problems with staff. Always polite and obliging.
As usual no way to heat water other than coffee maker. A jug or kettle would be welcome.

We arrived off the Rocky Mountaineer train, and all members of our group received a very rude 'welcome' from the member of staff on duty - may have been the same one mentioned in earlier reviews. Her attitude seemed to be ' I just told the people in front of you all this stuff so I won't bother talking to you properly'. (The other members of staff on the desk that we spoke to seemed much more pleasant and willing to be of service).
Our room was on the top floor, as we requested following reviews on Trip Advisor. It was spacious, with the two biggest beds I have EVER seen, a small table and two chairs. There was an in-room fridge, but no airconditioning. The windows were old aluminium type, and were quite difficult to slide open to admit air.
While our room was tidied during our stay, the beds were not made up by staff - I had 'tidied' them, but elsewhere staff did them to hotel standard as a routine.
The bathroom was clean and had a good size bath/ shower.
There is a lovely balcony section to the bar area, where meals and drinks can be served. One member of staff here (Martin) was particularly friendly and chatty. Soft drinks were the cheapest anywhere we came across in Canada - a refill is included in the price.
We were just a short walk from the main area of Jasper, where there is an excellent grocery store, a Visitor Centre and Post Office. Shops seemed very dated.

I booked this hotel through AAA based on a " gut feeling", and prepaid for four nights several months in advance. My apprehension increased with each review I read, but, after the long drive from Calgary we were agreeably surprised on arrival. Our room was on the lobby level in one of the wings towards the back. We had a view of the courtyard and easy access to the parking lot behind the Lodge. Our room was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed, including free reliable WIFI and lots of fluffy towels. The room was hot, but opening the windows and turning on the fan soon cooled it down. We were also surprised by the restaurant. The food was served quickly, beautifully presented and delicious. We ordered off the menu for breakfast and recommend "The Mountaineer". At $9.00, with no extra charge for tea or coffee, it is a bargain. Every member of staff we met
was super helpful. If you want to rush into town to shop or eat, the 15min walk may seem interminable, but if you are content to stroll into town through the residential neighborhood savoring the atmospere of this attractive town with its wood and stone architecture and its gorgeous hanging flower baskets it is delightful to stay in a quiet hotel removed from the
hustle and bustle. An added bonus was the book of coupons given to us on arrival. We used them at local restaurants, attractions and shops saving well over $20. We enjoyed our stay and wish we could return.

We checked into a suite on the ground floor. It was very clean and modern, with no airconditioning.
In the afternoon we couldn't open the windows because of smokers congregating in the front area of the hotel. They were loud and smelly, and when one lot departed they were replaced by another group.
The hotel was a little noisy. This was due to a wedding reception and associated high density of human traffic in ythe corridors.
Free, reliable internet was a bonus.

Room Tip: Book a room away from the main road.

Stayed two nights. Place needs refurbishment but our room was perfectly acceptable and the bed was very comfortable. Food was average but edible. The Seasons cafe in the lobby was simply dirty. The glass food-display cabinets were in serious need of some soap and water and the gift displays were thick wit dust. It is also a fair way out of town.
One member of the multi national staff-a Filipino on the reception desk- was probably the rudest front desk person I've met. Unpleasant and brusque. Otherwise it provided an adequate place to sleep and shower for two nights. Certainly never again.

Arrived whilst a wedding reception was in full swing. Noisy and reception staff brusque and unfriendly. Unfortunately was placed in a room next to the function room and our tour operator had not secured us a room with kitchen facilities (as we had requested). Lobstick did move us to a different room the following day, but the rooms smelt and were dingy and were in need of a refurbishment. The cooker had rings which did not work and was at least 25 years old. The restaurant was surprisingly good, however. We would not stay at the Lodge again, and see it as a poor choice accommodation. We were surprised that our Tour Operator actually placed people at this Lodge.

We were bumped to the Lobstick by another hotel that we'd booked many months in advance. But they had a busload arrive and were a room short and apparently have to give priority to their contract customers (so we were told). No complaint, however, as they paid for our two night stay at the Lobstick. Like much of Jasper the hotels are on the old side. Our suite with a kitchen was large and comfortable but with oldish furniture and furnishings. That said, we had no complaints and the price for us certainly was right. Not a fancy hotel (halls look more like a college dorm) but the rooms are neat, bedding comfortable and the bathrooms clean. Fairly convenient to town--a brief walk to most of the restaurants and shops.
