We stayed in the kitchenette room. There were six adults, we had two double beds in a separate room, a kitchen area with all amenities, fridge, stove, microwave and utensils for six. A large wood table, pullout couch and two flat screen TVs. The room was clean and functional. We had enough room to enjoy our stay and cook a meal one night. There is an indoor pool and three outdoor hot tubs. A $6 cab ride to downtown or a 10 minute walk. Only inconvenience we ended up with six people in the room and the pull-out couch was a twin bed, we did see in other rooms which had bigger couches. Also the room as very hot, but they had two fans that helped cool it down.

When spent three nights at the Lobstick Lodge while skiing Marmot Basin. We usually stay at the Marmot Lodge, another one of Mountain Park’s hotels, but due to availability tried the Lobstick. Many have indicated that the Lobstick is old. Some of the advantages of being an old hotel is the rooms are bigger than most of the newer hotels and its lounge has a wonderful atmosphere with large leather sofas and wood grain panelling throughout. The short walk to downtown Jasper gave us an opportunity to get some exercise and fresh air after supper. We made a lot of use of the WiFi and the other amenities in our room as well as the hot tub.

Not a good start when faced with a load of steps to get up to the lobby on arrival. No ramp to pull your cases up. Very off hand reception who volunteered little info. Certainly should have told us about ski bus etc. Room adequate but broken power sockets and wallpaper peeling off under the window. Also had ice on the inside of the windows in the mornings. It was -30C however. They did their best to remedy these problems in all fairness. Hotel seems more suited to school parties and was rather 'soulless'. Upstairs dining room very plain but downstairs for breakfast was fine. Reception need a lesson in customer service. On asking could they check the time the train was leaving for Vancouver for us, I was given the number on a piece of paper and told to ring it myself. Not what I expected and not the usual response in Canada. Not a place I will return to because of this.

I agree with others that it I sin need if some tlc. Rooms do have very good amenities and there is an outside hot tub which again is very good but needs some attention. The company own a few other properties and are renovating another hotel so perhaps this one is next. Certainly, I should note that the room was too hot even though the heating was off. The receptionist said that the whole building was warm and that they themselves had fans on their desks.

Breakfast was very average.

Stayed here for a couple of nights before continuing our journey. On arrival we were met by a very stroppy hotel receptionist, not the norm and our first and last in Canada. The hotel is quite old, but clean and tidy rooms are large and well equipped if a little dated. The food in the restaurant is cheaper than some of the nearby restaurants and we found it very good. A bit of a trek to the main town. Backs onto countryside a pleasant hotel with a swimming pool inside and jacuzzi inside and out.

Our first impressions from the outside was of a very run down and much unloved hotel.
Inside the décor was in need of some TLC and we found hundreds of suitcase scuff marks along the corridor to our room.

The floor boards were really noisy throughout the hotel and we ended up playing a game of who could walk to our room from the reception area without making a sound.

This was impossible!

Our room was clean but was located near the stairwell which also gave you access to the rear car park. So every time anyone used the stairs or entrance it sounded like a herd of elephants coming in. The Hotel was extremely hot and the heat in our room was unbearable which made us both feel sick upon entering. We eventually had to sleep both nights with our windows wide open just to keep the room cool. The Bathroom was okay but again in need of some TLC.
Our LCD TV’s picture quality had more snow on it than outside of the hotel.

We found our stay at the lobstick lodge to be quite a pleasant place to stay and the staff were very accommodating...the rooms are large and clean and modern....the food was good, we had Christmas buffet as well as breakfast buffet, prices are good for what you get....the facilities were maintained properly....the pool was a cold pool which was a definite surprise at first but the hot tubs were what they were....hot tubs....for being an older hotel the lobstick has managed to keep relevant and kept up with the times....we will be returning!
