We were doing a tour with keywesttravellandtours.com and stayed here one night. Our room was clean with a comfortable bed.Had a very nice full breakfast. As we were part of a tour group we had no real interaction with staff. Jasper is a nice, small township on perfect for one night stop over. There is a nice wild animals museum (stuffed) there worth seeing.

This hotel appears to fall over backwards in dealing with group bookings / tours.
For the individual it was positively impersonal. A grunt or two was all we got from reception. No welcome, no information, no help.

As has been said by others the fabric is both dated and in need of attention / replacement.

On a more serious matter, 4 way power sockets have been screwed to the edge of tables in all rooms, where kettles and tea / coffee making facilities are located !!!!!!! - picture available

Room Tip: avoid the sub basement dungeons

I felt this lodge needed some attention to new carpet, wallpaper and chairs. The chairs were stained and made me feel uncomfortable to use. It was obvious this place gets a lot of use, but I was not real comfortable staying there.

Room Tip: The elevator is a distance from some rooms and the hotel seems to have different levels, so stairs s...

This hotel is a fair walk from the centre of Jasper which means that after a hard day you may be less inclined to go out for the evening. The restaurant was good in the evening but not consistently good for breakfast. The first morning was fine but the second had different staff who were not particularly friendly or attentive. The room we had was a good size, had a comfortable bed and was quiet but it was well past it's prime. I found a threadbare patch on my blanket for instance. I had occasion to visit reception twice and both times the staff were offhand, verging on the rude. Definitely the worst hotel we stayed at on our tour.

We stayed here for three nights so we had plenty of time to explore the wonderful town and surroundings of Jasper.
Unfortunately this hotel which was booked through our travel agent Kuoni wasn't up to their usually high standard. The room was spacious and, thankfully, had a small kitchenette area as well as a separate sitting and dining area which meant that we could have our own breakfasts from the lovely little Bears' Paw bakery in town. The hotel is quite a long walk from the town centre but luckily I like a brisk walk first thing in the morning!
We ate in the hotel's restaurant the first night. Our waiter was friendly but more interested in telling us about his UK experiences than attending to our order. As a result he got the wine order wrong! My wife had a burger which was OK but my 'Skyline' cheese burger was full of fatty meat (nearly a third of it was saturated fatty rind) and very spicy. I don't do burgers as a rule but I fancied a change - I wish I hadn't! It came with chips which I didn't want but I wasn't offered the choice of them or salad (which I'd have had) even though they were on the menu. When I complained to our waiter about the meat I was fobbed off with 'Oh, well it's the style in this country'. I think not! I found that Canada's food is generally of high quality and I'm sure the Canadian's wouldn't put up with poor quality meat like this.
Needless to say, on the other two nights we ate in town which has a number of super restaurants.
The other problem with this hotel is the noise. It is so badly insulated for sound that on a number of occasions we were woken up by noisy residents and banging doors.
We'll be writing to Kuoni with regard to our experiences here of course. In the mean time I have to say that we won't be staying here again the next time we come to Jasper.

Room Tip: No comment!

A two night stay at Lobstick was just ok. Staff, rooms all pleasant enough but what surprised us was that the bar closed at 22:00 hrs. A hotel bar that closed early!!!!!. So we went to the Tonquin inn over the road who where more than happy to serve us.
Can't complain about the general hotel, with free parking, close to the town so would stay again.

We stayed 3 nights from june 29 to july 2, 2014. Our room was outdated, very dark in the basement and very noisy. Definitely not worth the money. Our worst experience out of 50 days in BC and Alberta. When checking out, a double breakfast was charged and it took 20 minutes to get this refunded. We will advice Booking.com of this experience, we were treated as if we would get a breakfast for free of 30 dollars on a bill of almost 1000 dollars. These are the worst Inn keepers we have met so far on our beautiful Canadian trip with very nice hotels. Better to avoid this hotel.
Loek and Nel de Ruijter Holland.

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel. Outdated dark room and very noisy, tabs administration. check your bill.
