We were fortunate enough to be placed in an excellent, newly refurbished room which was really spacious and offered excellent facilities (including two large flat screen tvs and excellent kitchen facilities). The Lodge is in a good location with excellent mountain views and just a short walk down one straight, flat road into the centre (with a supermarket along the way). There is ample parking and it was a great base being close to lots of great amenities and attractions. Though the receptionists were friendly on arrival I was a little disappointed that I reported our hairdryer as broken fairly early on in day 2 of a 3 night stay and was told someone would come to look at it but they never did. I wasn't updated on it at all or offered an alternative which was a shame.

Room Tip: One of the newly refurbished ones!

We were sorry that we could only stay one night at this 1970s-style resort that has been well-maintained. The kitchenettes were fully stocked, the rooms were clean and well maintained and the surroundings could not be more picturesque. Our only warning is to avoid breakfast in the dining room when the travel buses with tourists are there. The staff gets overwhelmed, the buffet runs out of favorites and lots of noisy tourists invade the space.

Room Tip: Many of the rooms toward the back buildings have balconies and are quieter as they are away from the...

This hotel has a 'motel' feel but is very comfortable and good value. The rooms have everything you would expect in a hotel and it is ideally located if you want to do some walking around Jasper. The front desk staff are very helpful, particularly in relation to walking trails and how to avoid the bears etc. They have a self service laundry and ice supplies which are really useful. The indoor pool is big enough to have a decent swim and the outdoor hot tub is good fun. The overall ambiance is quiet and relaxed. We would return if we visit Jasper again.

Room Tip: Our room faced away from the main road and train line so may have been quieter than others. It was a...

We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it. The staff was extremely welcoming n pleasant. The lodge is ideally located just a short walk to the town centre n has ample car parking spaces located close to lodges. The rooms are spacious n decorated very nicely. The lodges were clean n fresh, all in all a great hotel n would definitely return here again.

The Marmot Lodge is a slightly run-down 2-star motel on the edge of Jasper. No elevator, slightly smelly carpets in the corridors.
The inside of the room was better than the outside would suggest. The bed, shower and WiFi were OK, the air-conditioner old and noisy. And another hard-to-keep-clean carpet. Front desk service was indifferent.
If it had cost $80 a night, it would have been reasonable, but I paid $280 for a single. Admittedlly, this was the rack rate, since I booked it at the last minute, and everywhere else was full. But still...
Jasper is notorious for being a rip-off town, and Marmot Lodge is just one of the players.

Like other reviewers we were upgraded to a room with a lounge area plus self-contained kitchenette. This meant we could save some dollars and cook. However there was no AC so it was really hot despite two fans and door left open. The guys on front desk did offer extra fan but it wouldn't have helped. Also I think we got one of the older rooms as it looked quite outdated. On the plus side it was clean and beds comfortable. We were on 2nd floor room 250 and it was nice and quiet. Would stay again but ask for AC and refurbed room.

I have to say I was a little nervous with some of the other reviews but....

We were greeted with a smile when we entered the lobby and got a surprise when the clerk said we were upgraded to a room with a kitchen. A separate room and two tvs. It was pretty quiet all night and day.

Its so nice

The room is clean ands beds comfortable. It has free wifi.

My only complaint is how fare the hotel is from downtown. Though this is just a personal preference. I like being able to step out of my hotel and be right in town. Like I said personal preference. Dont let this deter u from staying here.

Over all happy with the choice we made. It is nice for a two day stay.
